Reinforcing top bunk in Palomini
We bought a Palomini last year and really love it, but it is not without its issues. One of those issues is that the top bunk has a really low weight limit at 150 lbs, and we have a growing tween son. I've already noticed some separation happening where the bunk meets wall even though he's below the weight limit and not active when he's in the bunk.
So. We're going to forgo some of the functionality of our particular Palomini, which has a foldable top bunk next to a door, and build a semi-permanent frame for the top bunk to sit on. I don't need my sleep ruined worrying about the stability of that top bunk when my daughter is sleeping on the bottom bunk!
Has anyone done this (or a similar reinforcement) before? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
