(repair) loose screws falling out
yes
the old common problem
especially on travel trailers and motor homes
just checked mine over
loose screws about ready to fall out on door shock
solution
couple of tubes of JB Weld (5 min type) epoxy
put just a little around threads
and screw in snug
that screw should stay in there now
had my awning bracket pulling out
on the old motor home we had
don't want to lose that THING while on the road
packed the sloppy hole with JB
then some more on the threads
never had another problem with it
if only a slight amount of epoxy is used
the screw can still be taken out if wanted later
someone on site does not like my format
((as was stated in another thread))
what you see is what you get
from
up top the mountain

JB Weld is a rather permanent solution! I might try Loctite first before I go for the big guns of JB...if you ever want to get that screw out for any reason!

hi Taranwanderer
they back out later no problem
just don't use too much
Loctite is better for tight good fitting nuts and bolts
JB Weld would be for sloppy holes
for super sloppy spaces
one can
put some JB Weld into the hole
some more on the possibly stripped threads
of the nut or bolt
then drag some very fine string or thread
through some epoxy
and wrap it around the screw
then screw it in
while doing repairs in our bicycle shop years ago
many many times we made similar repairs
crank housings totally stripped out
we found that epoxy held (with string)
and still broke loose later
note
I will admit
a repair such as that on a stripped bicycle crank
is not a good THING
but
the only alternative was
to throw the frame away
got them many more miles

Frank is right. I don't bother to read most of what you write because
of the format you use. It's really annoying, so why do it?

mountainmanbob's format has been addressed several times now. A couple of threads I had to delete to prevent a flame war from starting. Let's get back to the subject of the thread.
mountainmanbob's format will be discussed by the moderators to see if it is appropriate on the forum.
Anyone can use the ignore button so that they do not have to view mountainbob's posts.

Yo Mountain Bob is a freestylin rapster
He sings to the beat of a RV Camper
He says what he says
whether you like it or don't
Just click the "ignore"
and you won't see his font
He does his best
to offer his view
some hear his words
But I think its a few
The moderators here
will judge how he presents
If it annoys quite a few
I guess he'll be absent
So, Yo Mountain Bob
you can do your stuff
but the time may come
when it won't be up to snuff

My take on your center justified text is that it's annoying and difficult to
read. You say it is your trademark but it draws attention to you personally
and away from the original subject of the thread.
Note how this thread has veered completely away from the original
subject.
You further say you aren't here to make friends. We try to keep this
site as friendly as possible.
We'd be much obliged if you'd type your posts in that spirit.

to all wishing a good day
I will try it to the left side and see how it works
for a while
getting back to this thread (subject matter)
many things loosen on travel trailers because
there is not much solid backing
so as to secure into
the three screws I found lose on door shock
were just about ready to fall out
they were self tapping screws
as used much these days
in fast production type factories
I noticed that there was a good amount
of pressure on the door shock when used
screws were not biteing into door much
used just a tad of epoxy on the threads
today they are rock solid
still if I wish to take them out sometime
it will be no problem
to all wishing a good day

THING is hard as a rock now
we just returned home from a few days out
in our trailer
it was a nice trip of around 3 hundred miles
I have pulled trailers for many years now
and I must say
"this THING pulls very nice"
but oh yes once again
I had to call on the epoxy (JB Weld) fast set
the faucet (plastic) has a swivel end piece
I barely touched that THING while doing the dishes
sprung a wicked leak
there are a couple of o-rings in there
with a little screw holding all together
the plastic cracked
I said to "heck" with the swivel I do not use
epoxyed the whole end piece solid
after some sanding that is
THING is hard as a rock now
I had to buy the JB weld at a little desert auto store
paid almost twice the price
still worth it's weight in gold !!
and
I could carry on with my mighty duties
Mountainman's dishes

Well,I don't see any thing wrong with Mountainmanbob's method of posting.I don't have any problem with reading and understanding his posts.I agree with j44646-what a stupid thing to argue about.Chill out and get on with and enjoy life. Now if Mountainmanbob does a start from the right and types the words backwards,I may see cause for a small amount of concern. If you don't like how he does things-hit ignor.Just saying.

Does the word "moderator" mean God? I think the base word is "moderate." That being the case, the Webster Dictionary first meaning is, "a: avoiding extremes of behavior or expression : observing reasonable limits." Let the man have it his way, if you don't like it, ignore him.

J-B Weld is good stuff. There is no telling how many applications, uses, and materials that stuff has been used.
I really appreciate these forums and the posts. I have learned a lot of things over the years from various forums. The first one I ever belonged to was the Popup Portal back when we had a popup. In fact, there was a member who I became good friends with named “MtnCamper” and every time I see someone with a screen name with any variation of the word “mountain”, I think about him. I wish he was still with us today.
Thanks for reminding me about MtnCamper and why I like these forums.

no epoxy needed for "God's Ducks"
"God's Ducks"
Sitting by the duck pond
been coming here for years
place to be when I am full of joy
place to shed some tears
Little ducks are happy to see me
no matter what I've said or done
it seems that all they care about
is being fed and having fun
There is something very tranquil here
letting the thoughts of my mind
slip by
precious moments given by God
the only one -- most high
They seem to take me with them at times
to a place so far away
where I can relax and enjoy
God's will and what he has to say
Do not fret the things of this world
he tells me that I am only passing through
trust, faith, and receive salvation
a free gift for me and you
