Rockwood 8280WS mattress upgrade

Question did anyone get the mattress upgrade and did it come with the heated mattress? On our 2011 options sheet it looks like it should have been heated.

I don't have one (yet) but been looking at them and from my understanding the upgrade is not heated. You can get the standard mattress heated like many FR models.

When we picked our unit up the salesman told us that the up grade was not heated, just was not sure if he knew what he was taking about. Thanks

The upgraded Serta mattress is part of the convenience package. If you wanted a heated mattress, it was a separate, additional cost option that replaced the upgraded Serta mattress.

I ordered the upgrade heated mattress. My contract (separate line item) said "Heated Mattress IPO Serta Upgrade" in addition to the upgrade mentioned in the "convenience" package which I also ordered. Took delivery Aug 27th. What I received was an unheated brick called the "Alameda". The only upgrade I could identify was from sleeping on a cement floor. Not worth the money. Biggest negative on my new 2011 Rockwood 8280WS. Save your money and upgrade the mattress yourself.

The "IPO" in the Heated Mattress IPO Serta Upgrade means "in place of"...it is not an upgrade, only heated. What did the dealer answer with regards that the mattress isn't heated?

We took the upgraded Serta mattress as part of the convenience and added memory foam and a heated mattress pad with dual controls...we're happy with it now.

Dave (Dave_Monica),

The dealer called FR while I was picking up the RV and was told by FR that the "Alameda" mattress was all that they provide now as an upgrade.... I was not a happy camper because I was on an extended trip and had to sleep on the brick for three weeks.

Me too. I have the heated mattress, but living in Fla, have never used the heated part. We put a 3" memory foam topper on there, and WOW!! What a difference. Now it is great to sleep on. Randy

4 inch memory foam, high density topper - better than our home mattress! Only wish it was king size, but it is soooooo comfortable.
