Rockwood electric awning update

A few months ago I started a thread about my electric awning, an 07, not being adjustable. My Dometic dealer was also where I bought my trailer used. On that thread I was told that they had given a replacement arm to owners of that awning. That it would be adjustable and I can drop one corner to let the rain flow off.

I went to my dealer and told him what I found out. He tried three times and was unable to get anyone to verify it and was told I would have to replace the awning. We're not talking cheap, it's a 17 foot electric awning. I finally got disgusted and contacted Dometic myself. I explained what I had and what we were told and asked if I could buy the replacement arm. Boy was I surprised when I was told no, I could not buy the parts. The reason, it is a free upgrade including labor!

Due to some mix ups, crap happens, it took till today to get the replacement arm. I am taking my 5er in next week to have it done, along with a few other things I want. Its been a long run but I am amazed that Dometic is still standing behind their awning. After all, it is 8 years old. I will never hesitate to deal with them again.
