Another thing if you do consider the wider door, is that it will admit a lot more natural light. I have a canopy with open ends, and the sides stop at 3' off the ground. I like lots of light.

AGFazio makes a good point, it was going to be my contribution to this thread but I wasn't quick enough. Unless you have a door the slides open (to the left or right) you aren't going to get all 14' out of the opening. I don't have a garage for my RV (yet), but my "regular" garage at home is a 7' opening, but I can only get a vehicle inside if the vehicle is less then 6'7" because of the way the tracks/door is positioned when open. If that makes sense?

Not always. My door is 14' and my opening is 13'9. My door opens just above the opening.

Mine door 14' tall and doesn't pose any issues for our Sandpiper. It is also 20' wide so we can easily position it anywhere within the garage when needed. The wall height is 16'.
