season over

Next weekend is the closing weekend in most campgrounds around here.
It seems like yesterday was the opening weekend and maiden voyage with our Rockwood.
Will be washing, winterizing and parking the trailer in the shed for winter.
Hopefully the winter will be milder and less snowy than the last one.
Next camping trip...mid May 2015

Our seasonal park closes next weekend. We have a trip planed to Michigan later in October and Pinery Provincial Park in November. Depending on weather i might winterize then blow things out for November and re-winterize. TSC has Antifreeze on sale this week too!

Forecast is improving for the long weekend but unfortunately won't be quite as nice as last years Thanksgiving weekend. We hope to get out and if we do we'll likely winterize shortly after. If we don't make the long weekend I may hold off on winterizing until I'm sure the season's over.

Dang you should live in Texas. Most of ours are year round. Winter camping here is my favorite time.

We are planning on going to Wellesley Island State Park in NY this weekend. Weather conditions appear to have settled down to clear and cold but mainly dry.

Season is basically just starting for us. It is too hot in the summer to camp much.

Yep. Same here.

I will be opening and closing the season with my new unit this weekend. So sad the season is so short. That is the main reason the math does not work out too well for RV's. One can only use the camper for basically 4 months out of the year. The other 8 months it is winterized and covered up.

Same for swimming pools also.

Vin.

Vin we did that last year, bought ours in Nov. got a good price but it sucked all winter watching it sit there and not being able to use it. The good thing gave plenty of time to amass all the items for mods over the winter.

Season for me last through thanksgiving. But I start to keep an eye on temps, once it looks like the hard freeze is going to set in I will winterize between uses. After thanksgiving its winterize and store until just after new years when I head south to FL for 2 weeks.

Thanks for the tip. We're done for the season due to other commitments but I might have to look into that for next year.

Vin - just wait til you're retired (I'm assuming that you're not) and the math will work out great. Winter months in the Gulf regions, drag the camper up past the Mason Dixon line for the summer.....you get to follow the sun and REALLY enjoy the RV lifestyle

If feel you...We are most likely done as well. To many obligations int he next few weeks to sneak in a trip. Also our oldest started School this year so that really has put a slowdown on our fall camping. I just wrapped up a trip to the race track and while i didn't winterize it, I did empty out all the "pop-abales" like the shampoos, canned goods and what not. Stinks for sure as The next few weeks are prime time around here. It doesn't help that most every spot is full that's worth going to. The tradition of sitting by the fire listening to the world series seems to be broken.

Going camping for the last time of the season this weekend to see the fall foliage in Vermont. Taking out my new Class A for its first and only trip of the season. Sucks but the new season is only 7 months away!👍

We bought ours the end of Sept last year and used it one weekend before winterizing it - that sucked and so did having to look at it EVERY day after that sitting in the yard un-used and waiting for the start of the camping season on April 1st

It was a great season this year with our new Crusader and we will be having our last weekend at the local State Park for Halloween frights and fun with our grandkids and great friends 🎃👻
