Short Queen Bed vs Regular Queen

We're considering an upgrade to something like a Rockwood 2702SS or a Flagstaff 27BESS (similar floorplan to our Roo 23SS). My biggest concern is the "short queen" bed that butts up against the back wall of the entertainment unit. I'm 5'11" tall and concerned that the 74" bed won't be long enough. We have a regular 80" queen at home and in the Roo.

I'm looking for comments from folks who are 5"10 or taller and sleeping on the 74" mattress. Do you find the 74" mattress is too cramped?

Yes, I did. In our previous TT we had the short queen and I did not like it. In our fifth wheel we have the full queen. Much more comfortable.

Had the short one on my TT about 8 yes ago. I learned to pull it about 6" from the wall at the head and stuff extra pillow in the hole. In the morning, push it in. Worked for my 5'11" ht.

I am 6' even and I have a 2012 V-Cross 275 with the short queen and I have never had any issue sleeping in it. I don't sleep fully extended, almost always curlied up a little. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies everyone. Although I don't consider myself "tall" I do like to stretch out. The extra 6" could mean the difference between a good night's sleep and a restless night.

If anyone can point me to a similar floor plan with a full, 80" queen bed I'd appreciate it. We really like the extra counter space that our floor plan provides. The Rockwood and Flagstaff models I noted have the direct entry door into the bathroom that I like. My choices will be limited by the fact that I can't put anything longer than 31' or 32' in my driveway.

We have the Flagstaff 27BESS.... I'm 6'1" tall +/-
Fully extended, my feet barely touch the back of the entertainment wall. It's not an issue for me, since I rarely sleep on my back, usually on my side with knees slightly bent.
We also moved up from a Roo 23SS and haven't regretted it.

We have a short queen in our Rockwood 2306... I'm 5'-10 and my wife is 6'... We put a 4" standard queen memory foam on top of our mattress and it works perfectly. No issues at all... Gives you a couple extra inches at each end.
