Using it for storing your WDH hits the top 10 brilliant simple idea list. . I wish I had one that my Class V hitch would fit in. Meanwhile I keep mine on the ground chained and locked to the tongue frame.

Veering off topic for one second... Did you switch to a 2.5" shank? I am using the adapter and wondering if it REALLY made a difference in ANYTHING.

What is the worst that could happen if you leave it on there?

Did the other owner or seller report any problems?

Leave it no harm, no foul.

My Ram sits up higher than my last TV and I needed a longer shank. Figured might as well eleminate the reducer bushing. The shank alone weights almost 50 lbs and it's rattles and is noisy when driving without a trailer hooked up. So I always remove when not towing

I transported my bikes on a bike carrier on the nose of the truck going to and from the campground. Once in camp, I moved the bike rack and bikes to a bumper mount just like yours.

That way I did not have to worry about damaging the bike rack while driving around town in the truck.

This guy has frame cracks on his FR 5th wheel pin box... I guess you should tow these either for fear of frame cracks

"tin Foil" ? Where did you get that idea? I did read somewhere that a steel frame was an option on "signature ultra lites" but I have yet to see one that a magnet didn't stick to. Just to be safe I just checked mine, LOL.

I have seen some complaints about welds breaking but have not seen w hich trailers that this has happened to, My trailer had class 3 hitch bolted on and the factory installed spare tire carrier attached. I removed both to make up for the weight of my generator platform. That is welded on solid, no bouncing around1 When generator is on it is fastened solid so it can't bounce around. When I spoke to FR the tech was concerned about vibration and bouncing0, never mentioned weight. I laughed like hell when I looked at that spare tire! It took me 10 minutes to take it off!

Interesting. It seems All the problems were with Lippert frames. How do you know if your frame was made by Lippert?

99% of all frames for TT and 5ers are made from lippert. No matter what brand, is my understanding.

Figures. Like FR makes so many different trailers, huh?

As long as you can fasten it solis so it doesn't bounce around I think you should be fine.

Jim
If you check out Lippert online catalog you see that Lippert makes both bike rack and cargo platform that attaches to the back 5er/TT
