Hi,
Can anyone suggest specific site numbers or area of the campground that would be suitable for big rigs. We haven't been there but want to book for next year. We both have 42 ft 5th wheels and long bed crews. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I started a thread a few months ago before I went. Do a search and I'm sure it will come up. Every site on main deck lower deck and upper deck are about the same. Sites down by the water you are maxed out about 30' rig.

Our favorite campground. Loved it when it was still rustic and called Eagle's Nest. We often had the beach to ourselves - literally, hard to believe considering how packed it is now. Also always had one of the beach-front sites, impossible to book now. We miss the rustic charm now that it has been completely overhauled, but at the same time the improvements are nice, like the bar on the beach and new pool. Just don't like the new price....

We couldnt get a booking for when we wanted and have had zero response in getting a reply from voicemail or email regarding availabilty. A little annoyed actually. If you are booked up at least have the decency to let us know. We are 3 families one of which was going to spend a week there, the other 2, 4 days each. I'm glad they can afford to ignore potential customers and seemingly they can. We previously stayed at Frontiertown when we had the travel trailer but would not go back with the fifth wheel. Site was bad enough with the trailer.

We drove through Frontiertown once, never stayed there. I'm not surprised to hear about the response from Castaway's. We've had problems too. Haven't been there in 3 years because we started doing big trips since our kids are older and can appreciate them.

I'm sorry to hear you've had issues trying to get in touch with castaways. I've stayed there twice this year and have nothing but praise for the amount of effort they put into helping accommodate me and my family. No I never tried sending an email. I've always called and spoke with them. If you have three families going. I'd think the best way to handle is to call them so that way you are 100% certain things are set. Good luck. We really enjoyed staying there.

A friend and I were going to do a weekend there with our DW(s) and toy haulers, but they were booked up, even after Labor Day. It's good to be busy, I guess...
