I plan on leaving my 29 foot travel trailer in place in the woods and wonder how I should put skirting around it to keep critters out? Any Ideas? I would like it to look nice and be easily removed if I would want to go somewhere someday!
Another thing I've seen is people skirting them with lattice. Some of which is a tighter weave lattice...which would at least keep out the bigger critters.

thanks. I have thought about the mobile home stuff and someone recommended useing regular lapsiding and j channels.... i guess i just need to look around some.
If you're into a rustic look, a neighbour skirted in with plywood painted black and vinyl 2" lattice tacked onto it. It gives giving full coverage and a good appearance. He installed hinged access doors with magnetic spring cabinet locks. Looks pretty good actually.

... not spend hundreds on 75 running feet of skirting that looks nice and can be easily removed? hmmm, that will be a trick since you'll spend a couple hundred on just framing.
I've been toying with the idea of building a series of 8' frames of electical conduit or PVC pipe and panels of grommeted canvas drop cloth laced nautical style over it. Both take paint well, would be portable and would look quite unique.

Just finished skirting ours. I used vinyl siding and "J" channel. Got it at the local lumberyard on clearance 80% off...worked great, easy to remove, and setup. basically just stops the winds, not much insulation value... but it works....

could take pics, but i cant get the size down to post them here very well, even with our new fancy digital camera.. but I'll try,, photography not my strong point... point and clik works for me.
I used J-channel on the ground after drilling holes in the bottom and using 6" nails to secure it to the ground.... J-channel on the top too, for looks, and I used dbl-sided stick tape to secure the J- channel to the RV along the RV bottom edge, about an inch from the bottom actually, rubbing alcohol works wonders to get the sticky back off when you need to...
to get to the dump valves, I just take 2-3 siding panels off by sliding them up about the rest. easy access and works well.
I cut a small hole for the power cord and water hose to go in under the RV.
I will try to get pics today... and post them tonite when im back on.. 10PM pacific time.....approx....

sorry to dig up a 3 year old thread but this is very relevant to what i am going to do. What was used to hold to the TT and what to hold to the ground? framed the sections with 2x2's?
