Slide seal care

I got some 303 Aerospace protectant that I plan to use on the decals and slide seals of my trailer. When you wipe the slide seals do you lightly pull the seals away from the slide and wipe both sides when the slide is out or do you retract the slide and wipe the inside part of the seals then? I ask this because it would be impossible to access the seals for the bed slide once it is retracted because it is so tight when the slide is in. Thanks.

I just did mine from the outside with the slide out out.
Lift the seal away from the body - spray the back or inside of seal and wipe.
