Slide switches
Our 2yo grandson is coming for a visit. He pushes every button ever made! (Including mine! Jk LOL)
Anyway, is there a way to disable the slides? Circuit breaker or fuse? My old class a had a key, but my crusader does not. It seems odd for a FW made to host kids wouldn't have a better safety system.
TIA for your help! You guys are the best.

since he is 2 I would think he could not reach the buttons as mine are at eye level and I am 6`1, you could install a toggle in the circuit and mount it higher and farther away

Mine are pretty low. Lower than the lights. Good idea on toggle switch

I've got the same fear/concern with my midget and taking him camping this and the next couple of years. I'm trying to find a prettier (ok, NOT orange) version of this:

I've considered a mister full of water and spraying him like he were a dog, but my luck he would enjoy it.
The next logical step would be a tazer... but I'm sure that would ruffle some feathers.

Or a Phaser, just set to stun, of course. Less expensive would be pull the fuse.

I've tried the tazer, the preschool frowns upon it. I also cannot find a straight jacket in his little size.

A very slight swat on the behind with a newspaper/magazine works wonders when done with a stern DO NOT TOUCH THAT! Some way, some how, they have to be taught discipline and there are rules. Probably ruffle a few feathers with this, but it's JMO.

Our switches are very low as well. Last year, when we wanted to keep JR's fingers off of the switches, we ended up putting a gate up between the kitchen counter and the entertainment center wall. It got to be a pain sometimes when we wanted to go out the door but we got used to it. Never did find an actual cover they make for it.

I agree too, times a million! His momma and I have issues with this. But sometimes I can't follow him all day and night. It's a safety issue. Also, my 15-10 year olds might accidently push the slide thinking it's the light switch. I just thought for personal and property safety, a cut off switch would be better. But, alas, I'll just be nail biting.

10-15 yo should be able to read a label and continued (maybe a little more forceful ea. time) swats on the derriere might convince the little one. About the 3rd or 4th time, the message does register. When the tears flow, the message has registered.

You can always take the 12 volt fuse out disabling the circuit, that is what I do for my outside stabilizers and power tongue jack once set up and during travelling.

I think yours is the second recommendation for the fuse- I'm going to have to check mine out and see what I can pull to do this. We've had adults and kids alike touch ours because they're placed right where a light switch would be. They don't press them long, but enough that you can hear the motor for a moment.

I have put switches on my slides, rear stablizers and front jacks in the front compartment next to the batteries to keep wandering hands from messing with them.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to swat my wife's or mother-in-law's butt with a newspaper to get them to stop...

Yes! I've accidentally pushed them too. I'm looking for the fuse as we speak!
