snow on roof
Should I be worried about approx. 1 1/2 feet of snow on my parked 38 ft travel trailer with a rubber roof? Will it do damage come spring if i just leave it alone? 2 hrs from my house,and didnt want to go up there for no reason if it isnt nessesary..any help please...similar situations???? Thanks in advance

I had about 2' foot of snow last year on mine, with no problems......but I was worried, also. I did go up and shovel it when the forecast was for another 2 footer. It actually might be worse for you to shovel the snow off, damaging the roof with a snow shovel. Plus, you gotta weigh life and limb from 12 feet up. Tough decision, but if that is all there is with no other big storms in the immediate future, I would leave it if it were me.

That is one of the benefits of a full cover. Ours sits out all winter with no snow build up cause it all slides off.

Here is two options to think of:
One You go up there and scoop so when it melts the snow does not back up when melting and go to unwanted areas.
Second you do go up there and steps on some ice and a breaks now a sharp edge goes into the roof and cuts it. Now you have to repair.
Your damned if you do and damned if you don't
My 6 inches is staying there untill the sun melts it off. Really just the Fridge and AC the water will back up into. Which both should be sealed good

I will put it this way...I have a vinal tonnau cover on the bed of my pick up. No support to speak of. When we get a bunch of snow it sort of bonds after a while and just sits there. It has never stretched. I don't think you will have problems.

This issue was posted last February after we got dumped on twice with 20"+ within 10 days of each other. Someone posted " Do you see the dealers cleaning it off the units in their lots?" No they don't clean them off at all. I used the entended pole I use for washing mine and used the brush to drag off everything I could get to. I used a 8 ft step ladder so I could reach farther in and get as much as I could get off. Once the second storm hit I did the same thing but there was still quite a bit up there. When we had a couple above freezing days afterwards I got on the roof and used the same brush to break up the clumps and just pushed them off. One thing though it is very slippery so you realy need to watch your footing. I have a fibreglass roof but even a rubber roof is slippery when wet.

i think it should be okay. if you are really concerned get a roof scraping shovel and if you can get what you can with that id say your safe lol

My trailer last winter, no problems last summer.....at least with the roof  :

We have had a couple of 3" snows this year, and I love it much better than last winter.
