Spring Break

Since my wife is a teacher, she has spring break vacation. We are staying at a state park outside of Austin. Anyone else going camping during spring break?

Even though this is not the kind of "spring break" I took when I was in college, I am still excited about it.

We always try to camp during spring break, we still working and kids are young (14,13,8) so it's one of the time during the year we can camp all week long!

We went to Williamsburg and did an educational trip. Daughter liked it so much, she's been talking about going back all year. So- that's likely where we'll be.

We often do something during Spring Break (but not anywhere where the will be herds of teenagers.) We'll probably do something camping-wise, but we don't yet have reservations or even firm plans.

Back when a few buddies and I were in college we would always go to the Oregon coast over spring break to catch the last of the winter swell. Since then we still continue the tradition and pick a weekend in March to head over and get salty to kick off our riding season. Now that we all have campers the trip typically turns into a long weekend. Spots been reserved and the DW and I are counting down the days until we head off. Just a few weeks away!

Not a teacher either, but do work at a school district.

The wife and I are spending spring break at a Corps of Engineers Park just outside of Coleman, TX.

Can't wait......

We spent a week in Jamaica Beach at the ned of last summer. Had a great time. If you haven't been to galveston lately, the pier has been completely redone. We will be sending Spring break at Jellystone at Canyon Lake for the frirst half and Jellystone at Waller for the second half. We will be camping for 8 days.

Wife and I (both teachers) are looking to do a spring break trip. Thinking Tennessee, Kentucky, or West Virginia. Any suggestions would be great. We have two kids (2 and 4) so needs to be kiddo friendly.

Thanks for the help!

It depends on which week your 'spring break' is and what state you live in. Check the list of colleges and university spring break times for 2014. You do not want to be on the beach of TX when the large TX schools are having their spring breaks. Same with FL. the weeks of the large schools in FL.....families stay away from the FL beaches. MO has their spring break week near the last week in March and most of the large Colleges and Universities are done. The family and I have been to South Padre, Galveston, Panama City during those times and the beaches were empty of 'kids' from those and near by states. Great 'deals' on souvenirs.... Also been to South Padre during 'Texas Week' Springbreak..... Billions of 'kids' having a great time on the beach and venues, but.... no place for a family with young kids.... wait until the big kids leave.

Where are you coming from? for 'Spring Break' locations, it is getting very late to get reservations if you are camping.
