This makes me wish I still had a TT

New version of the Trailer Valet trailer mover. It's coming out next month. Looks like a hoot to drive!

For much less I have a power dolly available that does a better safer job! It is the only way to go! BTW, I was able to plug it into my TT 120vac powered by the inverter if I was using it away from home.

I'd be interested to know why you think yours is better/safer.

The one the OP posted is remotely controlled so you can go by the other end of your TT and make sure you're not running into something. On yours, you appear to be stuck at the front so you can steer it.

And FWIW, I'll betting yours is also too much $$ for me. Seem you would need to move your trailer around where you can't do it with your TV to make these worthwhile. Or maybe you need to move it to access other things. I don't have that issue.

If your TT is of any size/weight (greater than a small power boat) and you are not on a straight line or level ground, it will eventually tip over using a standard ball and socket design vs a "post and tube" design that prevents tipping. I am able to make over 90 degree turns - function of trailer & axel design.

And yes it is for moving TT when using a TV is not possible otherwise you do not need one. I had to park/position my TT within 1" of garage door in driveway. Typically one is pulling it in and you should be in front not behind pushing where you cant see. If pushing, you could use a TV and you still would not be able to see. Because the steering arm lifts up it allows for nearly 0" clearance when parking.

So these are my reasons why I think it is better / safer, but I am not forcing anyone to agree. Just my opinion that worked real well for much less too.

How does that little robot have enough power to move a TT???

I assume it is operated by a remote control and is very slow.

'forgot to mention - I agree that robot probably is limited to very little weight. The one I have moved 7000 pounds with room to spare!

Could you describe what the post and tube is. I'm trying to visualize it and can't

No problem - Removable (if more than 1 trailer) tube is bolted on to "A" frame 1-3 feet aft of normal "ball". The post is permanently part of the power dolly itself. See these other pics. BTW, the small wheels are removed during use - they are only there to move / position power dolly without using power.

This way the TT and dolly may turn independently in a horizontal plane without moving in the vertical plane like a ball would allow.

Also, not previously mentioned, I have a switch that activates the TT's brake and will hold it still, even on a hill!

PowerCaster

I have a PowerCaster PC-3 and have been using it for over 15 years. My trailer goes nose in towards a wall perpendicular to the driveway. It's the only way I can get it into its space. Best thing I have ever bought for my trailer.

My family has used Power Casters since the early 70's. They are great. I currently have a PC-3 to park my TT on the side of the house. I only had 2" on each side until I had my eaves cut back a bit.

I can see taking that out to the park just for fun ... a remote control tank.

I built a mover because I thought the ready-made ones were too expensive. Turned out that by the time I bought all the parts I could have just bought one. Mine looks similar to the pic. Powered with a 4000# 12V winch and works great.

The Google map pic of my house shows why I can't back straight in. By the time I get the TT back far enough the angled landscaping stops me when I try to straighten everything up. I leave the trailer out (like in this pic) half the year when we're using it but back it in alongside the house during non-use winter months. Only have 12" clear but the mover makes it easy.

That would be great on pavement in a crowded parking lot. I bet it would not work worth a hoot backing my TT on dirt, up a small incline and into the shed.

For price vs. performance, can't beat a front hitch.....

You have missed the point. Any of these movers are for use when a vehicle is NOT POSSIBLE - due to clearance issues. Otherwise the TV would be used in the first place.

A front hitch can often do what a normal hitch can't.

A mover can get in even tighter places, obviously.

Me, I use a Kubota. Turns sharp and doesn't get stuck in my stupid sand.
