TST TPMS

Hi Mnolasco,

The TST only requires metal valve stems if you use the Flow Through Sensors, the Cap Sensors are safe on rubber valve stems.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Mike Benson

Some stylish rims will not allow a metal valve stem. I use (for my 507TST) High Pressure valve stems that have a brass sleeve. They are a lot better than the standard rubber valve stems. I have the High Pressure valve stems on my Camper and tow vehicle and have the 507 TST on both the TV and RV.

I have been using the TST 507 system with Cap sensors on my travel trailer with rubber valve stems for the past 5 years and highly recommend it. No problems whatsoever. I am waiting delivery of an ISATA 3 and I am planning on using the system on the new coach. My question is can you use the cap sensors on the rubber valve extenders which come with the ISATA 3 on the inner tires, or do you need to replace them with metal extenders?

There are myriad options in the $50-$70 range on Amazon that include 4 sensors and a monitor. These are designed for passenger cars, but there are many reviews where people confirm they work with their trailers and RVs.

Having a short trailer (26'), I will go this route. If it works, great. If not, I will move them to my TV, which is old enough not to have its own TPMS.

Nothing against the TST system and it definitely appears to be the best solution out there. Just providing another option.

Good luck.

I was worried about the antenna on the Tireminder - either that I would break the rather thin wire
Yeah, the little cap on the end of the antenna broke almost immediately on my Tireminder unit. I put a slight bend in the end to keep it from going down and being unable to retrieve. Unit works fine though. I did send an email asking about being able to replace the antenna, and also an issue I was having in turning the doggone thing off, and received a reply today that it was under warranty and they would replace it if I sent it in. I'll be doing that once I get back from my next upcoming trip.

As the saying goes....: "you get what you pay for...."

I am going to have my tried, true, tested, For Over the Road Trucking (not cheap after market on cars...) for many years. Not only are the TST507s some of the industries very best TPMs systems.... TST has the very best customer service AFTER the sale. I would be very leery of any system sold on 'Amazon' for 50-70 bucks.....

Go with the cheap.... expect the cheap... and then you will pay the high costs when thing 'go wrong'....

I have had enough flats and damage to my RV and TV over the years, before my TST507.... I will not go back to those days.imo

I know that your post was to tell 'us' about other options. 'We' know there are many options... thank-you..... 50-70$ for censors and monitor?????
imo.... the red flags say..... not a good option

this is not a slam to you. This is a reinforcement to me, that I will spend the money to have the best peace of mind.

P.S.:
When you buy the TST system.... the monitor can be used for 22 sensors. Buy enough sensors for your RV and TV and just use the one monitor.....

Great, my same feelings about that company and Mike Benson . Wish all companies worked like that and “Maybe American will be great again”
