I'd go 3500. Whether SRW or DRW really depends on total weight, pin, cargo, passengers, loaded 5ver etc. And get the long bed crew cab either way.

Towle vechicle??

That will likely have 2,800 lbs of pin weight by the time you load it up. To stay within a truck's posted ratings, I'd be looking at available payload vs the pin weight plus your occupants and a little more to cover hitch + crap you might carry in the truck bed.

Likely pin weight calculated:

My guess is you'll find 3500 trucks have the payload available more than a 2500 truck.

Secondarily, look at combined weight ratings to decide on dually vs not. I know a couple of buddies who butt up against their GCWR (combined weight rating) with newer trucks and trailers about that weight.

As for dually vs not- don't fear it. I have an issue of length and height WAY more than width. I've been cross country and back with mine a few times and it's our daily driver (1 vehicle/full timers). We don't always park out in the boondocks and we do drive thrus and parking garages.

Thats a lot of trailer. Do NOT skimp on the tow vehicle. You will end up kicking yourself everyday if you do. Duallies are not hard to drive everyday. In fact 99.5% of the time I much prefer driving my dually over FWs Suzuki

I pull my 2015, 33rl, all over with the 2008 Dodge 6.7 turbo diesel.
I added " lift springs" which stiffens the ride, BUT, brings it to same as 3500 single. Been 50000 miles with 2 fifth wheels x country over
9 years and NEVER, EVER, felt a need or concern for BIGGER.
I DO NOT have the front washer and dryer. I never have more than 1/4 fresh water and travel with EMPTY TANKS. My rigs always towed VERY LEVEL. Use EXHAUST BRAKES A LOT TO ENSURE CONTROL. I do have the best TrailAir pinbox. I do travel extensively at 62mph. Retired 10 years. No rush!!

We used to tow a full weight 27' TT with a Dodge 1500 HEMI. My wife hated the feeling and the fuel so she went out and bought a brand new 2007 2500 Dodge with the CTD. The woman stole my heart.

It tows our 330RST with no effort, even in the Rockies. It was expensive but well worth the cost.

I am towing a 2016, 34RL Cedar Creek with a 2008, Ram Mega Cab 2500, 6.7L Cummins and a 68RFE auto. I have towed three different 5ers for a combined total mileage of 108,000.

I have made some changes to my truck for improve towing and ride performance. I installed air bags for leveling purposes and I am running different tires for my truck. They are Nitto Dural Grapplers LT285/70R/17 126R tires with Mickey Thompson SideBiter II Rims. This combination will support a load of 3750 LBS @ 80PSI each. I am inflating the tires to 70PSI rear which will support a load of 3415 LBS, the front tires are aired to 55PSI which will support a load of 2890 LBS.

For the model years 2004.5 to 2012 the 3500SRW and the 2500 Heavy Duty model trucks with the Cummins engines are identical except for one component. This is a small helper spring in the rear spring pack for the 3500 SRW model. The trucks are market differently for segment class sales. In 2013.5 model year and up Ram has made some changes that will differentiate the two truck models. Also starting in 2013.5 model year the trucks comply with SAE J2807 towing requirements.

Ram has a towing guide for each model of truck and what it will tow. The page is located at Ram Body Builder Guide. I have attached this link for you to review. https://www.ramtrucks.com/en/bodybui...de/2016/ramHD/ This is located at the left hand lower corner of the document.

Hope this helps?
