Trailer storage with stabilizer jacks down
What do you do? When you have your trailer in storage, do you put down your stabilizer jacks?

This is my procedure for storing our trailer. Trailer tires are placed on 2-2"X8"X7', one under each tire. Wheels are chocked front and back, they are also covered with tire covers to block the UV rays on them. Wooden blocks are placed under front legs (rams) with the trailer sitting nose high. This helps to prevent water from pooling on the roof.
You are good to go now until you need to take it out of storage again.
If possible disconnect the battery and lock the hitching ball joint or king pin to prevent theft.

I store mine next to my house and yes, I put mine down and disconnect the battery, It's not as easy for someone to grab it if they're down compared to one without them down.
Plus my kids driveway camp at times during the year, so I keep them down for stability with them going in and out

It depends. If it's just sitting, they're up, but if the DW wants to stock, clean or basically be in the RV for anything, they go down. She doesn't like the shaking when she's walking around in it, and I will keep her happy!

We are late summer/fall campers. I do go in and out of the camper in early spring and summer. I rarely go inside it in winter.
I store my travel trailer in my side yard with the stabilizers down. I put Lynx levelers under the stabilizers, as well as under the tires & front jack.
The battery is brought inside for winter, and the TT is plugged in to 30amp at the house when we are not camping. I run a low wattage heater in winter, and in summer, I run the air during the hot part of the day.

Parked right outside of the patio side of our house, stabilizers down, wheels covered, plugged in. Don't go in it everyday, but do go in and out several times a week. Always have to mess with something, or getting ready, or just enjoying a little extra space.

What are the cons to leaving them down? Or pros to having them up?
I've done both really, sometimes if I'm between trips by more than a month or so I'll put them down...sometimes not. I'm always getting in and out of the trailer, loading unloading, tinkering so the extra stability is nice but not always needed either.

I guess I should elaborate. I store my trailer at a covered lot (about 100 covered stalls 12x50). I go camping about one week a month. I have noticed in the lot that some people have the stabilizers down and some do not. So that's why I did the post. Thanks for the responses.

Doesn't hurt to leave them up; doesn't hurt to put them down.

Down
Pro: trailer is stable, harder to steal
Con: another way for mice and bugs to climb
Up
Pro: opposite of cons for down, little quicker to pull away when you want to use it.
Con: opposite of pro above.
Doesn't really matter I'm hoping, but mine are down in storage.
