TT True Weight
Hey It's me again...The Brochure on the website for our trailer 's floorplan says Dry Weight = 6403lbs and when we were buying ours we noticed that little yellow tag on the bottom of the door (and on the side of the TT) that says This trailer's Dry Weight 6100lbs.....
Correct me if am wrong but I was under the impression they weigh the trailers right before the ship them to dealers, The website and brochures are for reference, right?
Don't get me wrong, we were looking for TT's within a criteria (less than 6500lbs) so we knew what we were buying was within our expectations.
I was just curious what your experiences have been in this subject.

Hmmm.....doesn't make sense that the sticker weight is less than the brochure weight. What does the certificate of origin or the title list?? I know ours was exactly the listed brochure weight plus all of options as listed in the brochure. I don't think they weigh them as they come out the door......they just calculate to get the final weights.

We haven't gotten the title yet, we just bought it 3 weeks ago. the certs and the tags both indicate 6104lbs. I was assuming the weight on the brochures and website are with all the options reference weight.
By the way - How is your truck? Didn't your truck breakdown? or Do I confuse you with someone else?
Thanks

The only way to know the true weight is to weigh it at a weigh station.

When I purchased my TT the sticker stated the same dry weight as the brochure, 6,104 lbs. When it came back from the factory after they replaced the sidewalls because of delamition the sticker states 6,348 lbs. dry weight.
So I guess they do actually weigh them when they leave the factory.

Good memory on my truck. It was back home in 3 days after the front wheel 4x4 actuator solenoid was replaced. The solenoid on those trucks was placed on the firewall right where the cowl water runs off, allowing water & dirt to collect and make the unit malfunction. The Ford fix was to place a shield around the new solenoid so that the water and dirt is diverted around. It is a known problem, since Ford already had a solution and part to put back on. Another Ford better idea.

Well, I also noticed on all the new 20+ TT's we saw before buying ours is Mfg's don't put those stickers on the cabinet doors with the weight specs anymore. Someone told me they do weigh them now beofre they ship them and slap the sticker on it. I wasn't sure how much true there was on that.
MIKE- thanks for the link, I had always wanted to know the scale locations so I can go and get this done....nothing big since I am under TV capacity but it sure is strange.

I had something like that on my 89 Sub starter, dealer put some kind of cover and problem was solved along with two different starters. Good to hear your partner is back in action.

It wasn't the starter solenoid. It is the solenoid that operates the vacuum to the actuators in the front hubs.

Hey Willie,
We have a 2010 27BHSS that has a sticker dry weight of 7030lbs. I'm trying to figure where all the extra weight is coming from? Does your 27BHSS have the rear storage? dual 30lbs propane?
Any thoughts?

I found one within 10 miles of my house. I never knew it was there.

Hey Casey,
No rear storage on our 27BHSS, if is what I think it is....may be if you send Pics....I could tell ya.
Also, kindda of interesting ours had the yellow sticker form the MFG with the weight as it left the MFG with 6200 which is 300 punds less of what they have on their website.
Yes, I do have the 30 lbs dual propane tanks too.
Weird, isn't it?

Ain't it cool? I'm lucky to have a CAT scale 3 driving miles from home, too!
