Ugly 5th wheel accident.

Taken from a FB group page, on turnpike in OK between Tulsa and OKC. No news on injuries, just says one vehicle wreck.
Be careful out there folks!

It was the rear truck tire that blew.

Everyone needs to know how to handle a tire blowout regardless of vehicle. Watch this video: RV The Critical Factor - YouTube

Dang, that was right by my exit where we live.
I'll have to ask my wife about it since she has channel 6s sister stations news app.
Amazing what people can walk away from alive!

Just read that facebook link.
We were on the turnpike coming home from camping at the lake, just about an hour before that post yesterday. But we got off an exit before to run by walmart.
Crazy....and a small world!

This is a good reason to pull a heavy camper with a dually. I pulled my 5ver with a single once, and decided a dually would be better. This just confirms the decision.

Davegray I saw that video years ago at an rv show. Seeing it again was a great refresher. Thanks for posting it.

I had a friend that had a rear tire blowout on his SRW 3500 pulling a 5th wheel on a 2 lane road. He crossed the oncoming lane and the opposing shoulder before he could stop his truck......thank goodness no vehicles were in the lane. Scary stuff.

Never seen the video before and would of did it the wrong way, if experiencing a blowout. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for posting it.

I was driving North on (I-75) in the (winter/snowing).Suburban with (7) guys and Gear pulling a (Double Deck Snowmobile Trailer) with (8) snowmobiles on it! Blew a New (BFG T/A Radial Tire) on the right rear of the Suburban! We pulled over to the berm and put on the spare. Had the (Reese W/D bars on) NO Sway Control! Reese says NOT to use S/C on ICE or Slippery conditions! Youroo!!

X2 on pulling with a dually. I see to many large fifth wheels being pulled by single rear wheel vehicles and wonder why.
