weigh I need to pull in?

I read somewhere that fifth wheel campers need to pull into highway weigh stations when open. True?

I don't think so, but I may be wrong. Gotta figure most fifth wheel / truck combos are less than 30k gross, and most big trucks are over 80k. Not sure if it's a gross weight deal or just the fact that we, as in the RVers, are "recreational" use opposed to commercial. Will be interested to see if someone has any documentation. I've passed up every one of them for 10 years regardless of load, and haven't got any blue lights yet.

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.

We owned a motorhome for years, drove to NC, GA, and TN from Florida and never pulled into a WStation. Did not have to. (5 years ago)

ALL weight stations are for Commercial Vehicles involved one way or another in the Interstate Commerce trade. If pulling your 5th wheel you fit in this category, then by all means you must pull in.

Only if you have DOT numbers or business signs on your tow vehicle or if you are towing trailers for business purposes........

If for recreation no need to pull off........ the truckers would probably not be happy if you were holding them up.........
