I have to agree with everything said. My biggest gripe and my wifes too, is the bed layout. Why do you have to be a gymnastis to make the damn bed? Why the 12 inch stepups on each side of the bed and the bed is so low. with the slide out wardrobe you have to set on the bed to access it. making the bed is a back breaker. I notice that the 2011 flagstaffs have changed so you can stand on the floor and make the bed without having to step up on a 12 box on each side of the bed. What is in there anyway. I would tear them out if it is not structural. I am going to trade mine off. maybe go with a cougar or jayco.

My biggest complaint with our new Silverback 29re is that is is, once again, covered with snow!

its funny no one adressed a seating area that you can actually see the t.v. without twisting your neck 90 degrees.

Good point. And this is a deal breaker for me.
I have a bad neck joint and unless the recliners or sofa
are facing the TV I won't buy the trailer. Period.

We just purchased a Flagstaff 8528RKWS; a 5er. Hert7769 it has #5 and # 8 on your list. After looking at several trailers I was surprised to find a bathroom that has two doors! It can be entered from the hall or from the bedroom. Looking at the trailer and all it has one would think it would cost double for what it was listed for. It even has a ceiling fan! We have not moved in yet but storage inside out was a big plus. We our planning our annual Colorado trip in July and will be in it for 2-3 months so I will have more info' after that.

Well, since the last post was posted (February), look what's happened to fuel/gas prices. IMHO not too many people will be upgrading their TV's to handle a larger heavier RV if any manufacturer was to build one with even some of the "niceties" that should be there in the first place (like extra doors in cabinets and storage doors or drawers will add weight). Those thin divider panels are alot lighter. What we really have to watch for is foreign made units that are made just as well or even better and just as light at a cheaper price. Cheaper because their materials cost less than we can make them here in the U.S. Look what happened to the auto industry in the 70's & 80's. They got blindsided by the imported vehicles because of fuel economy, price, then quality and durability. IMHO, the "big three" are just now "catching up" but it may be too late. The RV industry must be pro-active in heading off what may be that same trend now. I don't propose that I know how to do that but, someone out there in the RV industry a lot smarter than I should start something before the RV industry ends up "behind the 8 ball too.
Just MHO and my version of common sense.

Bottom line is we buy what our budget's allow, and the RV industry has geared it's production to meet that need. Yes they could add all the features spoken of here and make each trailer custom to everyone's needs, but the price would be out of control. Personally I agree with all the wasted space issues, that alone should not affect the price.
I think as for the electronics and gadgets, there needs to be more options for the upgrades available, those who want to pay the price can get the quality they are willing to pay for.
My trailer (not a 5er) has a rear storage area accessible only from the outside, full width and height of the trailer and 20 inches deep, probably a cheap addition to the overall cost. I like the ideas of stronger bumpers.
But it's always good to have a post like this one, somewhere down the line someone listens and improvements are made.

We just up sized from a 24' to 33'. As far as kitchen cabinets I had more usuable room in the 24'. When I sa the bedroom in the 33' I was thrilled to see all the cabinets over the bed. Sure aren't happy now. I can't even get to them without standing on the bed. Also the over head light I have to stand on the bed to turn on and off. You mean they couldn't put a switch. With my bad back we are trying to come up with a solution to the bedroom cabinet. If anyone has any ideas sure could use them. I think there will always be something that I don't like with any TT I have but the next one and it will be the last one I guess I will be a little more careful.

I dont have a grip about my trailer cause it fits my needs and wants for now - these are just suggestions
Here are few changes that I would think could be incorporated into a trailer fairly easy and can be added as "options" for a nominal price to cover costs
I would have paid extra for these if they were put as an option but since they are not - I had to add them myself - RV Guy if you want pictures I can provide you with some of my installs .
1 - Remote Black Tank Washer (Like the Tornado) - which I added
2 - Battery Dsconnect switch - which I added
3 - Curved shower rod - which I have added
4 - Locking Door for the Fresh Water Fill - which I have added
Didnt know this was going to be an issue till I was brushing my teeth and hit my head works great for a short person but not us that are 5'11
5 - Move the medicine cabinet from over the sink - havent moved yet but am thinking of it
6 - I dont have a gripe about cabinet space but I did see a thread around here where Skidoonut turned the Night stand cabinets on both sides of the queen into storage areas - they used hinges and little gas cylinders (post #8) http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...html#post54315
Check it out - I am thinking about doing this Mod cause it will give some extra space and or possibly a laudry basket for me

Truthfully, I am very happy with our unit.
As we wanted a lightweight fifth, complaining about the lack of options that would only add weight would seem rather foolish.
The layout of storage compartments was well thought-out, the rear living area well-designed and very spacious for a relatively small camper.
If I didn't mind adding 2000 pounds, of course there are things I would add. But overall, I can't think of anything I would change.
Heck, we even have a fireplace!

I am happy with my trailer as well - I figured since RV Guy was looking for some input - I gave it

Have to agree about the LED lights. Really no excuse for them not to at least be an option, and it's silly for dealers not to order them that way.
Most of my gripes are specific to the 35Loft. I wish the second AC was standard, and they had designed and furnished a shade for the big skylight.

Wish they would of mounted water pump on floor of pass thru compartment instead of on ceiling too much noise in bedroom because of it, I'm thinking of moving it another mod I guess. Also I wish they had put shelves in top kitchen cabinets just too much empty space when you put cups and such in them.

I would have to say start with quality. Seems a lot of folks have issues with new units. I'm believing we all tend to live with smaller issues which seem to be the norm. (I had mine also) I would rather pay more for quality components and quality constuction, than nicer options and fancy gadgets. Make RV's work right the first time. Loose water connections, crapy wiring, leaks, delamination and the like should not be part of the deal. It isn't like RV's were just invented. How about just making a good quality unit?
