Picked up the repaired and reinforced countertop hinges from the welder. These support the folding extension shelf in the kitchen.
Because the shelf is heavy and it bounces up and down while on the road, the hinges consistently fail due to fatigue cracks at the 90 degree angle. I've replaced 5 of them.
The welder repaired 2 and reinforced 1 new one by adding a bit of material on the inside of the corner. I'll paint them with spray paint and store them in the trailer for when the current hinges break. Not being reinforced as these are, they will, I'm sure.
Cost: $30 (minimum charge)

If it's something I can't weld, or I'm not at home, I have taken stuff to the nearest muffler shop. They charge me $5-10 and don't mind doing it at all.

I'll didn't think of that and will remember it the next time I need welding services.
Edit: I should add that I have no objection ot having paid $30. That's totally reasonable as a minimum charge. The shop has overhead and people have to make a living.

Today’s list
Today the wife and I have replaced the refrigerator seal on the door (didn’t work). We also replaced the gas thermostat “switch” on our water heater. Also repaired plastic strip that runs the length of our awning. Now we just found a small hole in our roof looks like a limb or something has hit it. So going to put on some of the durabond tape on all seams. Oh yeah we also hung a new tv and mount in our master bedroom yesterday.

Eternabond. Scrub the area well and let it dry. Cut the patch from the roll. Use your fingernail to pick away the clear liner. Place the patch. Use a round cylinder (rolling pin, extended socket from your socket set, short piece of pipe, etc.) to roll the patch on. A little adhesive will exude from the sides and eventually collect dirt. Not a problem, but if it concerns you, you can run a tiny bead of caulk around the patch edges.

I decided I won't be taking along the external mount Suburban griddle when I leave here, does that count? Lol. Way too much hassle and weight to take that whole assembly when I can get the same utility from a good cast iron reversible stove-top griddle on my external two-burner. Maybe not the the same quality heat control, but I just can't see hauling that extra weight around for something I'll hardly ever use. I know everyone seems to rave about Blackstones and similar setups, but I guess I'm an exception.

I went to check if I had any taco seasoning in there. Darn. I'll make my own.

Winterized again. Probably didn't need to as we've been in the 50's to 70's and now going back to the low 30's. Weather guessers are wrong quite often for us so since it was nice and sunny I'd blow it out and put a little pink juice in. 3.50 is cheap protection.
At the beach 2 weeks ago and headed to the lake in 10 days.

Getting stuff together for projects.
Roof cleaner.
Parts to add two more 100watt solar panels.
Circuit breaker for the panels.
I want to clean the roof before I add the panels. Panels will likely be 2S2P configured to meet controller specs at max sunlight.
I’ve been checking out mounting my original two flex panels vertically on the TT sides using either industrial strength Velcro or heavy duty 3M Comand hooks. Just hang them on the expected sunny side. Use a spare PWM controller.

That brings up an interesting question; how are you supposed to clean your roof when solar panels are mounted?
Does it just become an exercise in annoyance in that you have to unbolt them to clean underneath?

Panels on the side would seem to limit you to 50% exposure at best...
How about putting hooks on the panels and hanging them from the rain gutters after you are parked?

My panels are the self stick BougeRV CIGS. Once I stick them on the cleaned roof, that’s where they’ll stay.
Not only looking more like new, I’m hoping the white roof will better reflect the sun for air conditioning.
The biggest concern using the cleaner is making sure the TT sides stay rinsed to avoid streaking from the roof dirt.
Several of the cleaners stress “safe for solar panels”.
The RICH CIGS panels, no longer found on Amazon, from 2021, had delaminating issues from wet, hot conditions.
To help avoid that I plan on eternabond taping the edges on the roof mounted panels. So far I haven’t seen any delaminating on the panels I mounted to the rounded TT front but will monitor them closely.

Yes, that’s the plan. NOT left on for travel. Even 50% power is better than none, with the panels left at home, leaning in the shed. I plan on hanging them on the sunny side or rear of the TT. If using hooks likely use bungees on the lower grommets to stop flapping in the wind. Just trying to use what I have. 3M hooks hold pretty well. Don’t want to risk pulling on the gutters.

The gutters are an aluminum extrusion, not sheet metal, screwed to the RV every six inches with #8 wood screws. Awnings actually terminate in the gutter with no extra support. Your fears don't seem to be warranted.

Or you leave that section of your roof dirty. Unless something about dirt and algae is potentially damaging, it's not necessary except to appease OCD.

SoftStartRV
Installed my new SoftStartRV today after work. Pretty simple and only had to make 3 trips up and down from the roof. When the weather warms up for real, I will test it out with the Honda generator. Not 100% sure I needed it, but it was on sale.

Installed two new 27 group batteries, hooked up turned inverter off so I know batteries aren’t going to be ran down before they are fully charged. Drove 3 hours to camp./ fish. It was supposed to be family trip then daughter backed out followed by wife. So I packed up my stuff brought the only other male in the family my dog Buster ( 3 female dogs stayed home). First time out since July

Replaced the crappy original equipment mattress (that we had put a 3" foam cover over) with a real Serta Black Label. Realized a substantial weight difference between the 2 (Serta much heavier).

Dropped her off at the dealership to have the slide motor checked out. Also figured I’d get the state inspection done as well.

Replaced the plug end of my 30A shore power cord. I had a little discoloring and melted plastic. I think it came from a poor receptacle in a pedestal rather then the internal connection. All good now.
Makes me think that I should build a sacrificial 1' extension cord to plug in.
