I would loan it to anyone that wants to go to the trouble, but it's only a 2000# gauge on it so you would be limited to about 1500#1700# pin weight unless you buy a 5000# gauge.

You had better start shopping for a new rig, you've got less than 10k to go with that one.

Same with the snide/rude- I'd love to know where your pin weight comes out to as well as the yellow sticker on your truck. And believe me- no commentary from me over the numbers.

Don't understand the interest in the yellow sticker on my truck is as it can be looked up and as for the pin wt. What will be gained on your part? You know for a fact that I pull it as you saw me in FL earlier this year.

Being a neophyte with trucks- it's more about learning what they can do. A little over loaded; a lot overloaded; under the posted ratings- it all helps me learn as I go. For me, knowing your pin weight is only 1/2 of the information. I can tell my server guys at work that I need a new drive because mine is at 800 gigabytes full- but that doesn't tell them if I'm 100% full, 80% full or even just 40% full.
In Florida, you asked me something about your truck and I responded with "I learned my lesson." or something to that effect. I still don't think exceeding ratings is for everyone, but folks like you, dustman, or ChooChoo- I do believe it can be done safely. My real question now starts to form, how much is OK? Or what signs do you look for when something is overloaded that you may be coming into the danger zone.
As for the yellow sticker- this is specific to your truck. You telling me is a lot quicker than me finding it. 2 seconds vs. however long it takes me.
As I said, just a curiosity. I know you travel all around without issue; that's never been the question. I simply am curious. (Same as I was curious with BamaBob's numbers or helped another member find his.)

Need some info on the awning pole mod - have Dometic power awning - when I attach the bracket for the pole do I use the existing bolt that holds the head ? to the arm or do I drill another hole ? Wondering if I undo bolt if anything will fall/fly apart ? Also if I do take that bolt out do I do it in extended or retracted position? Thanks in advance

I said the same thing about my GM vehicles back in to late 80s and early 90s. Haven't bought a GM product since. Same experience with the one Chrysler product I've owned. Never again. My '09 F-150 has been as good as my Japanese vehicles.
Back to the topic of this thread....
I finally brought our new-to-us TT home from the dealer yesterday. It's at a reputable local trailer shop today having the bearings and brakes serviced. (I'll pump lube into the zerks myself but I'm not comfortable pulling the bearings myself.) I could have had the dealer do it but I'd rather take it to a place I know and trust.
Next on the list: dewinterize and sanitize the water system, clean the roof, wash & wax, lube and condition everything and then load it for our first trip May 8-10 at a local provincial park about 10 minutes away for a thorough test before my 30 warranty expires. After that, the mods will begin.
