What did you do to your camper today?

Sanitized the water system and found out that I do indeed have an overflow hose for fresh water tank

Dewinterized and sanitized the water system, cleaned the very long awning and installed the new Husky HB4500 electric jack. Then started loading our camping gear that's been in storage since we sold the Roo early in 2014.

I have to say that Hertel Plus and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser worked great together to clean all the dirt and mildew off the awning. It's sparkling clean now.

The manual Husky tongue jack was a bear to crank. It was rated at only 2000#. Probably OK for just the tongue but not strong enough for installing the WDH. The 4500# rated electric jack makes hooks-ups a lot easier.

Replaced the metal conduit poles on our main awning with another set of Sherlock Painting Poles, couldn't stand the conduit rattling anymore.
They were also starting to rust a bit around some of the holes where the pins have knocked off the paint I used.

I wanted these to match the stowed length of the one's I made for our slide awning, but needed them a bit longer since the main awning is taller. Used 6-12' poles and cut off a bit so they are now 5-10' (slide poles are 4-8'). I pulled the inner tube out of the bottom and took 11" from the bottom of the outer pole, and 12" from the top of the inner pole.

Very happy with the way they look, and can't wait to use both sets this weekend.
No more rattling either.

What's the state of charge on your battery? I think they've been known to set off detectors when they're very low.

The batteries were full but the camper was connected to my house via an extension cord while I worked on it.

I bought a Husky 4500 with remotes last September, we were heading out for a week in PA when I was loading up and the manual jack quit working. I have to say best investment and Husky really stands by there product 100%

Just curious what is the point of the poles I just leave my awning free standing and extended all the way. On each end I have a strap to the end of each side of the awning going to a stake in the ground to keep it sturdy never saw an awning with these pokes but I think this is OC's invention right

Flipped my bathroom door upside down!!

Sounds crazy but it was easy. 1 hour job. Standing in kitchen looking towards bathroom- door hinges on left and door opens towards kitchen which blocks the fridge. We like to leave the B-room door open as much a possible for flow thru ventilation and light. There's a big sky lite in there.
I effectively pulled the door and door side frames out- turned the whole thing upside down and re-installed. The hinges are still on the left but now door opens towards the b-room. When it's open it blocks the linen storage which is much lower use area than the fridge!
Yes door knob is now about an inch higher than before but it's barely noticeable.

When DW asked me to do it I was like NO WAY but after looking closer it didn't look bad. The door "frame sides" are one piece plastic door casing and stops all in one piece. They were stuck to the face of the door opening wall studs with 2 sided sticky foam tape. I was able to pull them off without damage and just flip them and stick back in place. I used the same hinge holes and latch hole. Super easy!!

I know that small bathrooms require the door to open out but this large bathroom didn't need that. The trailer mfg needed to step back and look at "why" they were installing the door to open out!! Not necessary in larger trailers.

The poles allow you to tighten the straps down and not put a load on the flimsy arms that bend rather easily and also keep the awning from jerking up and down also loading the arms. They self store on the awning arms.

What did you use for your rubber seals I was told not to use silicon bc it attracts dirt

This is a great invention have a set myself. It is so nice to be able to leave the awning out and not worry about the slight chance of wind or rain. Other then maybe a hurricane your awning can stay up.

I use slide seal lube and conditioner it comes in a aerosol can you can get it at Walmart. It sprays out on the seal as a foam. I try to do it a few times a year.

Nice we have an extended driveway as well where the Roo goes stays out of the way of our vehicles

Deleted the Forest River KW1 filter and housing and installed a new filter canister and filter. Now we can replace the filters without ordering the gold plated ones from FR.
I think we even have better water flow now also.

DW installed new Reflectix in the 23IKSS bunk windows and I tested the new PUGS (they look great). Also, opened the awning to install bolts in the second hole of the Old Coot Awning pole brackets (they seemed tight enough with only one, but better safe than sorry). Oh! Also repaired the screen in the door that I accidentally poked a hole in when I installed my electric wall heater.
