As a person who does most all his own repairs that comment is for "engineers " the loose term used for a person that is suppose to know a little about what it is they are designing. The term was stolen from the railway. An engineer is the person in charge of a train, not a collage degree holding designer of products. Hence the term "engineers should stick to driving trains" , cuz that's what they do , not design things. Plus we all know a train engineer is smart enough not to put the light switch in a closet with a door. That's like putting the car headlight switch in the trunk or back seat.

My college diploma begs to differ.

Also, Merriam-Webster dictionary:

en·gi·neer noun \ˌen-jə-ˈnir\
: a person who has scientific training and who designs and builds complicated products, machines, systems, or structures : a person who specializes in a branch of engineering

: a person who runs or is in charge of an engine in an airplane, a ship, etc.

: a person who runs a train

I paid my $500 deductible to replace the entire rubber roof membrane due to the DW who jammed it against a tree and we tore a 1/8" hole in it. Not recommended
