If your fridge is staying at 33 degrees, what kind of "improvement" are you looking for? Usually want fridge to be 35-38 degrees. Sounds like you're there, to me. Any further improvement will turn it into a freezer!

True.. I guess what Im looking for is it not having to cycle as often as I hear it to keep cold.. By removing the heat from the back of the refrigerator with a couple of extra fans I hope to help the compressor not have to work as hard.. Just a theory

No compressor on RV fridges. They are an ammonia absorption type of cooling system and use thermodynamics to transfer heat out. But yes, extra or more powerful fans do help.

He might have a res. fridge, then it would have comp. Some of them are in slides, tight confines.

I don't think the DOT regs apply to us campers; commercial transport only?

What did you use to make the part that screws onto the grill? I have the 6 ft quick connect extension with the 1lb bottle adapter, but need to remove the regulator, but keep the flow control.

Getting the TT loaded for a 4th of July weekend trip to the river!
Do this trip as a final shakedown trip before we head out to Colorado the middle of July.
Will be adding a 2nd 12 vDC battery and a new cutoff switch this weekend along with testing the new inverter I picked up.
After this weekend we will bring her home for a wash and wax before getting her back on the road.

Refrigerator drain tube broke into several pieces.

I have been wanting to add a few 12V computer fans behind the refrigerator, so when I opened the outside cover to check out where to install them, I found my drain tube laying on the deck. I picked it up just to have it fall into a few more pieces... So off to the hardware store I go... Replaced it with a clear rubber water tube. Only a few $'s to fix. Also had to re-fix my remote switch for the hot water heater, I pinched the insulation in the crimp, worked on and off. All is good again. Back to being a Happy Camper!

It was 100* here yesterday and hit 102* so far today. The sky light in the bathroom of my 26FKWS flagstaff acts like a furnace. This morning I pulled the inner section and placed 1" rigid foam on the clear plastic held in place with foil tape and then covered the rigid foam with tinfoil shinny side out also secured with metal foil tape. I just checked and the bathroom is no hotter then the rest of the rig so it must be working. It does cut down on the light however the installed lights give more then enough light. The pic is the inner section of the sky light removed showing foam.

From factory, the drain hose has a cap/valve that keeps bugs and warm air from entering the hose and ultimately the refrigerator. If you still have it from the old brittle, broken hose, you should use it with the new hose.

Or not... While checking out the system I found that my 30 amp shore power input connector was burnt. One lead is toasted. Checked the power cable I was using last time out and yeppers one of the connector holes is burnt. So...off to the parts store I go tomorrow gathering parts and getting ready to assess the damages.

On the bright side...it didn't cause a fire and no one was hurt. Maybe I will catch a break and it is only the plug that got hosed and the wiring isn't damaged.

Got to pay better attention to details...

ALWAYS make sure the plug is dead when you're plugging in, especially at campgrounds.....

You mean open the breaker before you plug in?

Man, 2 yrs ago we had a huge debate about opening the breaker for your hot water heater. Some people were aghast about that practice, as they claimed all sorts of terrible things were going to happen with the breaker.

Now you're telling everyone to cycle the breaker on the power pole. Man, those power pole breakers must be getting cycled several times a week. And we're all still using them.

At the prices some campgrounds charge, they can afford a breaker once in awhile...but, it's not my cord...
