If I were you, I'd take my digital voltmeter and check the voltage in parallel with the analog meter. Just to make sure it's reading properly. You'll notice below your analog needle that there's an adjustment screw. 14 volts sounds a little high. Adjust it to read what your digital is reading.

Did that after posting. My multi meter says 13.2v and I will adjust it accordingly.

We are preparing for 9 days at Ocean Lakes.

I picked up some Calgon to put in the black tanks. CFO vacuumed everything. We also did some AC work.....

After reading everyone's AC issues (and spending the weekend in my old DP at the dragstrip) I convinced myself that the main AC in our Sandpiper wasn't doing as good as I expected. I had been pretty happy with it, but reading other folks issues and sitting in my old motor home convinced me that I needed to do some work. So.... I pulled the return vent covers and checked the clearance. They were less than an inch thick (top to bottom). I added some 1.5" flexible PVC to "expand" them. I also checked the outlets and noticed 3 "joints" in the duct work that were not taped. We added tape. I also took som cell phone video of the vents looking towards the rear of the RV and realized that there was no end to the duct work. I taped them up at the last ducts to prevent air from going back in no mans land. We have not been unhappy with the AC performance, but thought it could be a little better. Hopefully these few tricks help.

I will report back on these in the next few days as we are headed out for 9 days at a ocean lakes.

If these "tricks" help the AC, then I will pick up two new returns and do some surgery on the ceiling.

Tomorrow.... Just organizing the basement, loading clothes, hooking up the truck, and pulling it out of the garage. Leaving at 6:30AM Friday.

Absolutely!

The only issue I haven't fixed yet (only 2 other minor issues since buying in January) is a range hood fan that isn't working. Took it apart last trip to make sure it wasn't a wiring or switch problem. Have an email out to Joe to see if he'll send me a new hood.

I think I'll check the A/C run while I'm in Gatlinburg next week. Everything worked great in Gulf Shores last month, but anything to improve the efficiency can't hurt.

My maker lights keeps blowing a 20 amp fuse, My dealer looked at it and tested the system and keep saying it's fine, also I just got back from the factory from a total roof replacement. Told them about the problem and they checked it all out and said they can't find anything. I told them it only happens when I drive, after about 10 miles it will blow that fuse. This has been going on since new. I know it's not the TV being I'm on my 2nd TV. and the first was checked by Ford and they said it's not the truck. The Factory suggested I change the plug. Well now I have done that. The reason for the post is that I found the ground and 12v wire are 10 ga. the rest are 12 ga. I was surprised that It had 10 ga. that is good for 30 amps for the charging circuit. There has been a lot of post about the TV charging the trailer battery. Learned that if you keep your lights on the alternator will stay on that should help in charging your batteries. I'm hoping it was just a corroded end spade only. Time will tell next trip. Lets hope that's it, I have been using a auto reset fuse but you have to turn your lights off for a couple of minutes to rest...

As you know it could be a few things. With your story I wouldn't rule out a pinched marker light wire somewhere. I had this happen on a trailer and it was hard to duplicate. Ended up being wires for the rear center 3 clearance lights.
Hopefully you got it with the plug.
Also even though the trailer side uses 10 ga on the pigtail, many manufacturers use only 16ga on the chassis harness side.

Ya, I know that, but I was thinking of the members who had #4 ran to the plug end of his TV, but couldn't fine a trailer plug to handle the amps, so I hope he reads what I found because I would think that might give him at least 30 amps. That would be good. But hell. I could be way off base. What's your opinion?

The maintenance instructions that came with my Alpha Systems TPO roof say no protectant is needed.

DH and I purchased the Camco Roof Vent covers (Wal-Mart, $19.97 each) and the Cyclone sewer vent ( Camping World on sale $14.97, membership price) yesterday.... Now to wait for a cooler day to get these installed.

You don't need to reapply a protectant everytime you wash your roof, they recommend washing your roof twice a year with a mild detergent. reapplying your protectant every 3 years. I don't think I would use Dawn, just read on this forum that Dawn would even take the wax off your unit if it drips down the sides. We know it will cut grease, they use it to clean water fowl after a oil spill. Remember BP and there spill?..

I repaired the blackwater rinse that was leaking like a sift from the factory and got all my tanks cleaned out and indicator lights working. Proud of myself . At least until we go camping again and the indicator lights malfunction again.

Went Camping @ Lake In Wood in PA July 28th to July 31st. Clean and very nice campground however for two adults with no kids or dogs it was sort of boring and the downpours for two days didn't help either. Strange thing is some bath houses have hot water and others do not.
