My trailer came from the factory with those connectors used for the brake wire connections underneath near the axles. They are more secure than wire nuts and a whole lot easier to work with.

I wouldn't use those push connectors. Only a small spring contact. MUCH better with wire nuts, IMO.

Yup! Bringing it back in, I found I could have saved myself the broken board by just bringing the slide in slightly (which moved the foot of the bed towards the door and meant I didn't have to wedge/push as hard).
Live and learn.
It's an adventure, right?!

I wasn't concerned about the wire nuts being tight. The fact that they even used wire nuts!

I can only go by the info on the Home Depot and other sites which state it is UL/CSA compliant and can accept solid or stranded wire (and, stranded is just a bunch of solids in a group). Here's what they say:

My Sandpiper has been at dealer one week. My service guy just called with updates. They are going to repair everything on my list plus they found a leaking hydraulic slide ram and are going to replace it. The underbelly is soaked in hydraulic fluid so they are also replacing that. Also got 22 point inspection. So far, so good.

Solar System Idea
Let me start by saying " Support our Veterans (and all military)" today on Veterans Day 
My Project; To install an auxiliary power supply for emergency / boondocks living.
I am starting with location and Wire Routing. I have measured out a lot of the components so that I have the Mounting clearances as the plan comes together,
1) set up my battery box, install sliding battery tray and 6 to 8, 6 vdc batteries.
2) build, recess and install control panel inside RV.
3) Install conduit for wiring. or / and Drill appropriate sized holes for passing thru walls and panels.
4) install Surge Protector System.
4a- install between switch box and main circuit breaker panel
4b- install monitor in new control panel
5) Install Switch-box
5a- install in generator compartment
6) install batteries
6a- parallel - series with main cables connecting to center set of batteries
7) install solar system
7a- install control panel monitor
7b- install solar controller
7c- install 3000 watt inverter and hook to switch box (isolate AC units from solar)
7d- install 4 each panels
8) install (propane) Onan 6kw Generator.
8a- install and hook up propane source.
8b- hook up power to switch box
If you may have any suggestions or you see that I might be forgetting something please let me know.
all attached pictures are ideas, looking for feed back before starting project.

How are you isolating the air conditioner from the inverter. On a side note, I own a 2014 Sierra....

My idea is to re-wire the AC circuit breakers to a second switch box controlled only by shore power and the generator. this way I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn off the AC circuit breaker prior to going to Solar power. This is my idea of isolating them from overloading my solar system.
Do you have a better idea?
