Funny you should ask......
The CG we are at is...well...sorta Alabamy Redneck and our site is sorta gravel.
I have the screw-stakes and the straps but this ground is so HARD I would have to run a rototiller over the "front yard" in order to put them in.
Can't even put in our 1/2" yard stakes for our RV sign...sheesh!
Promise you OC we will be fully dressed out in Goshen!

A 12" pc of closet dowel will screw the dog screws in and a hammer works wonders on 1/2" yard stakes.
I have 10" x 3/8" spikes if dirt screws won't go in for the awning straps.
U Bamians jest give up too easy.

Her's and my bucket list -the awning poles were the biggie because we have no room at the house to deploy the awnings (shrubbery in the way)
So, I worked on the awnings supports and we kept thinking of stuff during breaks and well Lowe's was too damn close to the RV park
6 Actual came up with the MOST cleaver means of securing the de-flappers I was just gonna do what OC did but I think she out-modded him on this one

Yer right OC - but since it was not so windy...
Besides there was a open offer for you to come on down and supervise - empty site right across the road

Not so much a Mod...
Just perhaps a good idea
- We are ALWAYS digging for our gloves to set up or do sewer duty...never again
- Found a pizza stone at a thrift shop for a whopping $1 - EXCELLENT heat dispersion in the oven now...next trip out 6 Actual is going to try fresh baked bread (from frozen dough)
- Yep, Rig is fully ID'ed as a FRF & PPST member

There is no a/c vent in the bath? what are you talking about, In the bedroom the a/c vents are before the light, so what good is that? The only way I can thing of is use wire molding from the overhead light to to the area. I don'e think that would be to attractive, don't want to trash my trailer.

You pull the inside cover of roof vent down, pull the light fixtures down and feed the wire above the ceiling paneling and under the insulation. Just like the factory does. Most of the wires lay on the top of the ceiling paneling and under the Styrofoam insulation.

All that looks great a lot of work, oneday people will learn not to install manual flappers that pull that awning down no matter what OC'S said. Time will tell. Other then that your poles look really nice.

There areas way out in the boonies where they throw their old tires on top of their mobile homes to keep the metal roofs from rattling in the wind. I guess that's why they do it? Never stopped to ask. Might have a STILL around back and I don't wanna get shot. /snark
Thought maybe you had "roof noise" issues.

De flappers have been used for years. What makes the difference which direction the material is pulled?

Because of the stretch. You know that as well as me. Pulling tight straight across as designed to use is not the same as pulling down which they were not designed to do. Set your awning right and you don't really have any problems. They were designed for manual awnings. You can see the stretch already. But that is just my opinion. To each there own......Also as the wind catches it, it will stretch the material even more. But what ever works for people. You showed me that before and said I was dumb to give mine away. That fabric is unforgiving. Once it is stretched it is stretched. You will still have some flopping no matter what. I just think it's a bad idea to pull down and not across as designed to do.

I pull it tight with the ratchet straps and don't really pull that much with the de-flappers and bottom line, they aren't on that long. In fact, I've never had to use them yet. Just gotta give you something to gripe about. Go back to sleep! You're way past your nap time.

guess mine will be back in the shop. just picked it up last weekend from the shop for warrant work. one of the items was to replace the awning lights. 2nd time under warranty. camped over the 4th and 1/3 of the new lights aren't working.
Also i have a strange issue that has happened since day one. When i turn on the lights over the sink or in the bathroom the hd tv screen freezes. kind of like you hit the pause. turn off the lights and tv starts working again
