When you tap with buckets it's always good to wait as long as you can. The holes will still be fresh enough for good sap flows when the ideal weather gets here. I have vacuum and can tap anytime after the first of the year. I normally plan to tap mid February but change that to earlier of later depending on the forecast temperatures. I've started as early as the first week in February and as late as the second week in March. This year looks like it will be mid February or later.

Our one dinette was pulled from the wall as it was never properly attached. Some added supports and the awesome Kreg Pocket Hole Jig and now the dinette is nice and solid.

I used the:

DZS Elec DC 1.8-15V 2A Mini PWM Motor Speed Controller 1.8V 3V 5V 6V 7.2V 12V 30W Low Voltage Motor Adjustable Actuator Switch Speed Control Knob

From Amazon. $8. It's a tight fit between the switches, but has adequate clearance.

Works very well to bring down the fan speed and noise.

Thanks Johnfort. Funny how i was thinking of that mod while camping last summer and wrote it down to do sometime. Well, now “its all your fault” I have another mod in the works! Thanks for the part #.

Counting the days

Looked at her today and wish the snow will melt. Earlier this week we go 8-10" of snow then it dropped to -25 for a low with highs of -15. But this weekend it is supposed to be almost 40. A 60 degree temperature swing will be great, shots here i come! Boy do I love Wisconsin winters. I am just counting the days until our first trip in May!

I just did the same thing. I was surprised to get into Otsego Lake SP in Gaylord for Memorial weekend. Had a hard time deciding what site I wanted and I need a 45ft site. Have a weekend booked every month this summer thru August. Will book after Labor Day soon and Interlochen in October for the fall wine tour. Leaving for Florida first of April for 2 weeks. Can't wait to get out and I have cabin fever big time!

Wisconsin-1, your wish for warmer weather is coming your way. Our low was -5 degrees here in Kansas City area and today our temperature is at 51 degrees. Warm up should be there soon!

Hi Paulie1238. Are there any close, nice RV parks near Rockies Spring training? Talking Stick?

You can try Scottsdale Trailer Corral. Have not stayed there, tho. You can also stay onsite at Talking Stick Casino for 25/nite. Here is a link that I used for some nearby parks:

https://www.google.com/search?q=camp...&client=safari

One place not too far from those attractions with a great remote feel, is McDowell Mountain park. Adjacent to Fountain Hills. We have stayed there several times. Close in to me, and we take the Scouts there most years for mountain biking weekend.

Thanks. I like to stay as close to the "event" when I go places, so the on-site will allow me to see the games AND lose my shirt at the casino. A two-fer.

Today I'm going to take out the official camper cooler and put in the Blackstone griddle that I got for Christmas. My wife is driving down to NC with my daughter and needs the cooler to bring back some Red Oak beer. Unfortunately me and the camper are staying here in NH.

After surprise dry camping, yesterday I installed my 1000W inverter, fuse, circuit breaker/switch, battery disconnect in the battery bay, and a smoke detector. It’s a fugly install mostly because:
A) I don’t make things pretty
B) the battery layout is weird (3 in a line and one to the side)
C) I didn’t have all of the right cable lengths and sizes
D) I was doing it by headlamp

But, it was good enough for us to run for the night with extension cords ran into windows. We powered two 120v fans, my wife’s oil diffuser, TV for a bit, CPAP machine, phone charging, and a couple of adjustments to our Sleep Number bed.
