What did you do to your camper today?

Hello,

We are going to be using an Ikea “Grillskar” outdoor sink for camping so we have a sink outside. The sink faucet connects to garden hose. The 3” drain is typically to a bucket. We are looking for a Camco sewer connector product like the “Dual Flush” item they manufacture, but instead of the gsrden hose connector, it should have a 2-3” connector with valve on side. This will enable the sink to drain to the campsite sewer, but also allow for valve shutoff to prevent odours or any potential back-flush of black water coming back up this sink drain pipe.

Anyone know of such a product? I can prob make one with Camco ABS adapter ends and some pipe and a valve. But wanted to avoid doing that.

Wired in a 500 watt inverter to run my TV and Satellite system while boon-docking and also wired plugins off the batteries for my 200 watt suitcase solar

I'm unclear on your plan. Does it assume you always have a sewer connection?

Lots of popups have a sink but no gray tank. A common solution is to put a portable waste tank outside. Both the trailer and the portable tank have a standard hose connection so you can drain directly from the sink to the tank. It may require a hose with two female ends. Many tanks come with one.

Blackstone Griddle

Removed the propane gas grill in our outdoor kitchen and installed a Blackstone 17" griddle. Using the 1 pound cylinders until I get the 1/4" adapter fitting to connect to the TT propane supply.

RV faucets are the WORST! Cheap plastic junk! We've replaced all three faucets with regular home faucets. SO much better.

I agree, which is why I was so very disappointed in the one I replaced.. It was designed for a sticks and brick house.

Got the SteadyFast Stabilizers finally installed today.. it only took three days with 1 foot pad moved to the other side and 2 bars relocated on the foot pads to better situations. I think I might be finished with all the mods and updates... just in time for the RV show this weekend.. I hope I don't find new things I can't live without.

Steadyfast is one of the best mods I done. You will love them. The work is worth it!

Unless you find a new RV! In that case you can have fun starting all over again!

OH NO, not yet... several bills have to done away with before that can happen.
and when it does happen several of the mods that have been done will be removed and placed on the eventual new one

Removed a Dometic 9200 awning motor. A BRAND NEW 3 week old $349 BUCK MOTOR that has impact wrench in its genetics. Sounds just like an impact wrench. No idea how a tiny motor could make such a racket.
Engineering is interesting. 9200 awnings are easy to repair. No rewind spring.
Pics below for amusement.

I uh... "fixed" the TVs in my camper.

For a long time only the TV in my living room would get a signal. I figured it was a broken wire or a bad splitter or something. So today I go to plug in a speaker bar to my main TV. The second I plugged the USB plug into the TV I lost all my channels.

Confused, I did the usual troubleshooting. Turned off and on again, unplugged it, checked the connection, checked the antenna, etc... Then I re-did the channel scan I got zero channels.

So I went through the menu on the TV and found a factory reset option. So I did that and the tried the channel scan again. To my surprise it not only worked, I got way more channels that I had previously gotten.

Then I went and checked the bedroom TVs and they were working as well.

No clue what the factory reset did but it fixed everything. I'm not gonna complain.

Hey,

I have the same issue. I’ve used my awning 4 times and now the motor is bad. Can I ask where you ordered your motor from. I called Dometic and they say it could be 3 moths or more…

Found a new 9200 motor on Ebay that was erroneously listed in the 9100 listings. Seller was breaking down bracket kits and selling individual components. 9200 motor is sold as part of the bracket/hardware kit. A 9100 motor is part of the roller assembly.
Looking thru 9100 listings while considering swapping 9100 torsion and motor into my 9200 tube. It's doable, but 9100 motors are failing at a high rate also. Also the torsion spring is a PITA. 9200 has no torsion spring.
I found both the original and new Dometic supplied (now dead) 9200 motor totally devoid of lubricant inside the planetary gearbox. Maybe they are intended to operate dry?
First motor was super quiet, as is the Ebay motor. I should have checked for lube in the Ebay motor but didn't. I might yet.
Dometic has created a marketing disaster with supply chain issues. The motors are Chinese and could become unavailable?
Ordered a complete 21' awning assembly from our selling dealer on June 4. Advised 4-6 weeks. Bracket kit came in mid July. Roller and awning fabric is looking like spring of '22. Our roller was not damaged. The old fabric was an easy fix for now.
If a 9200 armature locks up, there is no easy way to retract the awning in an emergency. The only way to retract is remove the planetary gearbox, manually roll it up, and reinstall the gearbox in order to lock the roller. That's a two man job. The arms will have to be strapped while rolling up. Add to that, the 11' height of my awning when rolled up.
So I bought a spare motor. Connot believe I found the thing.
Good luck!

21' 9200 complete about $1843 shipped to dealer. The dealer cannot install due to service backup. Yet, they will not drop ship. Says Dometic won't drop ship.
A 21' awning roll is fun to transport 100 plus miles. That said, since it's backordered....meh.
This screwed up transaction could well become the norm. Global vendor's supply chains are easily disrupted.
RV owners that cannot personally source parts and repair their equipment are going to find themselves with expensive yard art that they cannot use.

Although I do think it's over used.

I'm waiting for a part from my dealer for almost 3 weeks now. COVID supply issues ya know ....

My patience got the best of me so I ordered the part from an Indiana supplier so I could have it for an upcoming trip and got it in 3 days.

Down side; $220 out of pocket, upside; spare parts and use of my accessories.

$220 is a good price. All 9200 owners should carry a spare motor. Period.
Even if unable to install the thing. 9200 motor change out is easy. Relatively speaking.
The mobile RV fix guy can readily replace a failed 9200 motor in less than an hour. About the same for a 9100. Get back on the road and party. Just gotta remember that torsion spring on a 9100 and lock it out (pin it).

While at it just haul an extra truck and trailer for a ready made parts vehicle. My first few long distance trips I carried everything I could think of tool wise . Other than a few hand tools never needed anything. Could have packed a spare battery once but Walmart came through.
