Fridge fan

A previous post was for inside ‘fridge fan. Here is what I did 6 yrs ago. It is out of the way, not blocking any access to food storage. Used a 24vdc fan, draws so little current at 12vdc (.045a) I had let it run. Since, I added a micro relay that shuts it off when the door opens. Used a 2 pin header connector to easily disconnect when needed. Moves a decent amount of air, and is silent.

I uncovered it, reinstalled the batteries, cleaned of black streaks and began loading.

Added an expansion tank

Added a 0.75cu/ft expansion tank to the water system. In line just after the pump. This will settle the rapid pump on/off cycling when taking a shower. Had one on our other trailer and it was great!

Cleaned out the water heater and replaced the anode rod. I use a 18" snout on my air compressor hose and blow all the inside accumulation out through the anode rod port.

2nd AC? You know they made them with multiple zones, so you only need one thermostat (see lower right corner). Here's ours:

We have a thermostat in the front bedroom and one back in the living area. The camper came with two thermostats in the living area, which seemed stupid to me. I moved one to the front bedroom. This allows us to set the temp better at night.

I didn't see how I could do that with one Micro-Air thermostat. Do they have a remote temp sensor for the other zones?

I think you would only have to run the one wire from one of the ACs to the dual (or more) thermostat. It would make your RV "2 zones".
Call Micro Air, they are super helpful.

Uncovered the TT.
Measured the height using a 4’ level off the AC unit and a tape measure. After climbing down, saw the wheel was about 1-1.5” sunk in the gravel drive so I added that to the total, now 10’4”. Odd thing is, factory listed height is 10’6” AND I had the axle moved from above to below the springs which best estimate added 4.5-5” height (based on hardware heights).
Checked it out inside, no critter evidence.
We now have full hookups at the garage but dewinterizing the plumbing will be right before camping because we get freezing temps often til the end of April.

I got new batteries!
Went to pick up my Mini Lite after having a few things done to get ready for the upcoming season. Thay had called me on Friday saying it was ready and I told them I would not be able to pick it up until Monday. So Monday comes and the tech brings me to my trailer and says "uhh, you had batteries, didnt you?" Yep.
Well they had put the trailer out front Friday so my pick up would be easy and never put it back in the locked yard. And some low lives came by, cut the wiring, and battery straps, and helped themselves to my two Interstate Deep Cycles.
Without missing a beat, the tech said "I'll bring out two new ones right now". He did, and rewired it all back up, and so now I have 2 brand new Interstate Deep Cycles to replace my 3 year old ones. I asked about paying the difference to upgrade to two 6V, but was told that there are 6V shortages everywhere.
They fell all over themselves apologizing, and said that this had not happened in years. But with the economy being what it is, people are starting to steal all kinds of stuff.
So, be careful out there...and bolt everything down.

Took it to the dealer we bought it from last year so they could replace an awning arm, one was shorter than the other. Replaced the tv that fell from the wall mounting bracket that wasn't installed correctly. They are also going to drop ship a new dinette table. The one ordered was not the right one. The old one was damaged when the tv fell on it. I was kind of impressed, in and out in just under 2 hours.

Why not put that Soft Start on the new AC? I do not see a downside to doing that.

Leaving on our first trip of the season on April 15 so time is getting short.

Took the camper out for it's first tow of the season to see how it feels on the new truck. This truck sits higher than my old one so I had to lower the hitch ball. I also turned on the propane and tested the stove, heat, fridge and freezer. I still need to de-winterize but we have temperatures dropping into the teens the next couple of days so this will have to wait.

Searched for metal tire valve stems. Found them at a fair price at Advance Auto. Now I need the snow to go away so I can jack up my TT to pull the wheels. Got new tires & I always install new stems with tire replacement. Planning ahead on a TPMS. Uncovered it over a week ago. Now it’s been snowed on twice.

Just got home yesterday from a weekend "boondocking" in the University of Louisiana Baseball field parking lot. No utilities but also NO cost!

Drained the tanks, filled the fresh water, gassed up the generator getting ready to do it again beginning this Friday. We are gong to play Georgia Southern University.

BTW, Our Ragin Cajuns beat the University of S Alabama Jaguars 2 game to 1

got it back from service! did not cost as much as i feared as i had a bit of a to-list for them and the labor rates have really gone up. Now to de-winterize it, sanitize the water system and our first outing is in 4 weeks....

Replaced my WFCO 8955 with a PD 4655L Wildkat and switched out my 2 6 volt Trojans for 2 Battle Born GC2 lithium batteries. Lead is dead.

We loaded it back up and brought it home after another weekend of Tailgating and watching our Ragin Cajun baseball team take 2 out of 3 against Georgia Southern.

Nest trip ion two weeks tailgating against University of Louisiana Monroe, April 14-16. No Sunday game that week due to it being Easter Sunday.
