Ah. Very cool. Our state inspections are annual here, but I think they are going away in 2025. There will still be emissions testing, but no more safety inspection.

Propane Quick Connect Port

Added a propane connector the trailer manifold to connect to a Weber Q2100 grill. Removed the regulator from the grill and added a quick connect. Used a 12 ft hose between the port and the grill.

Broken Bed Repair

The platform board was not large enough to sit on the frame edges and the hinges were the only support. The hinges failed on our first trip. Glued and screwed 2x3s to the inside edge of the frame supporting the bed. Reshaped the mangled hinges. Very solid now.

Brought it home from a shakedown trip.

Noticed some water seepage inside the front window frame, so will be investigating.

Hitch storage

Wanted to get my hitch out of the back of my truck and easily accessible when it came time to hook up and go. Came up with this idea.

Now that's a pretty cool idea. Nice job. Man, why can't I come up with stuff like that?

Nice job! We've been keeping ours (on the small trailer) in one of the "baggage compartments." If you tend to grease the balls for the pull and anti-sway, you might want to start saving plastic grocery bags and rubber bands, so the exposed grease doesn't grab dust and sand.

Very neat idea. Don't you worry someone might put that hitch on their truck, back up to your rig and take off?

Locking hitch pin would solve that, plus whatever is done with coupler.

Winterized the fridge and water systems. Note to self: remove and clean out water heater first, not last. 50 psi shoots out zinc particles and anode rod!

If that happens again, I'd like a video.

Repaired Microwave

We were cleaning up our 5th wheel getting ready for another trip when I noticed that the microwave looked funny. Checked it and found that the bottom was coming loose so I took it out of the cabinet and found that the great people at FR and my dealer had neglected to secure the microwave. The front cover panel was the only thing keeping it from falling out. They had installed the bottom plate that the microwave was supposed to rest on but had not checked to see that it was supporting the microwave. So I installed a piece of 1/2 plywood under the mounting plate and this raised the mounting plate so that it is actually supporting the microwave now. The thing that really surprises me is that our dealer had to install a new microwave about 8 months after we purchased the RV and they did not catch this problem. Oh well if you want it done right then just do it yourself. Lesson learned.

What did you do to your camper today?

Finished another cracked frame repair. This is the second trailer in a row with frame problems.

I swear I don’t know how Lippert hasn’t been sued to the point of bankruptcy.

So DH installed the Hunter digital thermostat that was recommended on one of the many sites we follow. Found a YouTube video of a guy installing the exact same thermostat and he did everything this guy did, only when he tested it, it wouldn't work. So he ordered a Coleman digital but it was used and did not work, so he ordered the newer version which is portrait instead of landscape so it didn't cover the hole the wires came through or the screw holes where the other had mounted, so my genius man MacQuivered it! He also mounted my perpetual calendar 😊

Installed tv mount and mounted our 43” tv over the fireplace. (Which is how we also watch tv in bed, by closing the fireplace/wall) Wife put together her organizers for the fridge and pantry and put in tension rods to keep them secure.
