Sanitized, Decalicified, New Anode, and New Filter in 30 steps

Combining all four into one procedure improves efficiency while adding some complexity and opportunities for missed steps. For example: Turn off pump before disassembling the onboard filter.

To make sure that I had not forgotten any steps, I jotted a procedure, reviewed it the next morning, and tweaked it while doing the steps. I posted the full procedure with rationale on my blog for your enjoyment.

While it's small, the collection of tools I keep in the trailer is higher quality (at least consistently decent) than the stuff I've accumulated at home. I definitely don't want a useless tool if I need to make an emergency repair out on the road. Granted, most of the time I use them for puttering around for entertainment but the occasion has arisen that I had to make critical repairs way out in the boonies.

Just received my replacement collapsible ladder. I got one, heavier than advertised and longer than needed, so I sent it back and got a shorter one, 12.5’ vs. 15’ and 25# vs. 29# (advertised at 21#). Seems heavier than expected so I weighed it and rechecked advertised weight, 24.8# advertised.

Did you get the Lippert? I bought the 12.5' and though I didn't check the weight before I bought it, it was heavier than I thought it would be.

Not Lippert. Least expensive, aluminum on Amazon. Odd but stainless steel cost less than aluminum versions. I did look at the weights along with length and cost and ratings. Less collapsed size was also a factor. My TT large item storage is significantly lessened since adding a solar controller, larger inverter and FOUR 100AH LiFePO4 batteries in my main storage area. I built a wood partial wall to protect and allow air flow around the 3K watt inverter, 50% longer and heavier than the previous 2K, same brand.

Replaced the cracked refrigerator vent cover.

Checked propane levels for a short trip next week.

Got a bee in my bonnet about insulating my batteries in my front storage.
I cut a bottom pad from an old exercise mat and used the foam padding that my batteries were shipped in. I slid the pads on the sides and across the tops under the cam latched tie downs. I’ll add a final strap around the sides later to better hold the end pieces.

I found an option in my battery Bluetooth control to disable charging and discharging. I disabled both for winter on all four.

Finished the cargo carrier installation and put the fire pit, the extra 20 Lb. LP tank there along with a couple gas cans. Still room for more. The carrier was pretty sloppy in the receiver so I used a hitch clamp and also made two side stabilizers out of 1" sq. tube that I bolted to the receiver cross tube. Solid as a rock now.

Greased the wet bolt suspension.
Charged the battery in the 3500w generator.

Getting ready to load this week after this jab of winter weather we are to get tonight and tomorrow.

If I did that I'd be trying to figure out next spring why my batteries are dying.

Put a tag on the batteries.

Today I replaced my AGM batteries with 2 x 100Ah lithium, installed TPMS, installed Mopeka propane tank sensors. Most importantly, I put a coffee maker in the RV.

Need to figure out why the new batteries don't seem to be charging off the converter.

Replaced a slide motor. Encoder had failed and would only operate in override mode.

Noticed the old motor had some gouging on the casing. There are what appear to be guide bars on the slide a few inches above the gear rack at about the same height as the gouges. The guides were held in place by pan head screws with heads that sat on top of the guides. Might explain the "pop pop pop" when the slide was moving in and out. Replaced the pan head screws with some flat head screws that sit flush [mostly] with the guide. Slide now moves smooth[er] without any "pop pop pop".

I've had a Mopeka for just over a year. Love it.

Is your 12vdc dead? How did you determine they aren’t charging?
If your converter is putting out higher voltage than the batteries, they should be charging.
The BMS in Lithiums could be shut off. If they got shut off for some reason, it takes about 14vdc to wake them. Many have low temperature charging shut off protection and stop allowing charging about 32F and won’t allow charging to restart until 40F or above. My batteries have internal Bluetooth monitoring and controls, including a battery charge & discharge on/off.
If you haven’t been following other Lithium threads, normal voltage readings are hard to use with them. Unlike other batteries, lithium holds voltage levels longer, failing to show battery capacity changes.

Installed magnetic knife block

Installed my magnetic knife block today. I can tolerate the horrible RV mattress, but not a poorly equipped kitchen!

How well do those stay while traveling? Do you have to put them away for that?

I'll find out on my first trip. I feel pretty good about this. I used 2 strips of Nano tape after cleaning the block and wall with alcohol. I also bought the extra strength commercial version that's recommended for RVs.

I'm not affiliated, but I bought it from Woodsom.com.

EDIT: I mean I bought the extra strength magnetic block that they sell. Wasn't talking about the nano tape there.

We put ours away. Last thing I want is a stray knife under one of the slides.

I have never lost any yet. I don't have my in a protected sleeve though like @reidfo, that might make a difference. My good large knife sits below these in a basket and sleeve. Actually just dug the one out that is in the picture a few days ago, it is nicked up a bit but from other stuff, not the ride.

And I have taken a couple of wrong turns onto roads I should not have been on. Other stuff strewn about but not these.

Mine is attached with screws and toggle bolts, maybe expansion nuts. Can't remember for sure.

Our camper has been sitting on our hunting land since the end of September. We went to bring it home on Sunday and everything was going good until we went to bring the slide in. It wouldn't move. Checked the fuse which was still good even flipped the fuse with another one just because no luck. Ended up crawling under it and testing the motor with a multi meter. Motor was getting power when I hit the switch but it wouldn't do anything. I ended up getting out a drill and bringing the slide in that way. It's only a 2020 and we purchased the extra warrenty so I'll make a call this week and get it set up for repair.
