Just got the call from the dealership. It's all done ready to be picked up. As I expected the slide motor was shot. Cost me a $100 deductible from my extended warranty. The total bill without the warranty would have been $1,300!

Of course without the warranty I would have done the work myself as it was an easy swap and would have saved some money but from some quick google searching OEM slide motor's where selling for $500-$900 depending. So it still would have been more expensive than the $100 deductible.

Just finished installing the GenY. Shop where I store my trailer would do it for $195 / hr, minimum 2 hours. I did it by myself in 75 minutes. The Flex Air I took off is heavier than the GenY. Now I just gotta wait for my truck to get out of the body shop so I can set the height. 29 March.

I think I am going to reverse the bolts so the nuts are on the outside. Makes it a lot easier to torque them.

Bought off Amazon:
Cheap water flow meter for tracking water load.
Tiny 500watt heater to use with limited power. My normal electric heater is 1500 watts.

Finished stripping Dicor Sealant and replaced using Eternabond Tape. Hopefully fixes leak at the rear bathroom Skylight and front edge where the roof meets the front fiber glass.

I replaced the 30 AMP twist lock receptacle that was plugged in that I ripped out when I was backing up my utility trailer.
Luckily only the receptacle pulled out and not the siding and inside wiring.Cost $40 for a new one.

Towed it to Bonito Hallow campground, electric was acting funny fan was real real slow most things didn’t work turned on AC and fan spun faster. Turns out neutral wire was loose at trl where cord plugs in I went ahead pushed others in as well all great watched several different groups of mule deer walk around fixed my leaking hose..

I drilled some small weep holes in the decorative frame around the skylight. When I took it down for some unrelated reason I found a bit of water. We had no idea it was there. The weep holes will make leaks more evident, if they recur.

Lots of things (some small, some bigger) after a week long trip in the Florida panhandle.

First one was the usual post-trip reset of the inside - sweep, swiffer, tank reset, etc.

Second was a scrub of the outside - smashed bugs on the front facing surfaces were epic.

Third was the annual empty the basement and get that back in order. Clean all the crud that collects over a year and re-pack for the best Tetris fit of everything.

Next was fixing the camper entry door. Didn't realize it but I absolutely parked the 'wrong' way at an Aldi parking lot. Popped the door open to give the dogs a stretch and the wind snatched it right out of my hand. Door has a gas strut on the bottom that wound up in two pieces.

Last was fixing the wiring harness under the drivers seat. Seat was hanging up a little bit when rotating it for camping, but couldn't see what. Turned out it was the SRS harness and it had gotten hung up in the rotating assembly somehow. Cut it clean in half like I'd snipped it with cutters. BTW, boy does that make the dashboard light up like a Christmas tree!

Hacked it together to complete the trip and then used some shrink tube/solder connectors to come up with something more solid.

Funny how a 'simple' 1000 mile trip can generate so much maintenance work.

Got the cover off in preparation for a trip south in a couple weeks. Might go pump some grease in to the bearings today. Going to be about 50 today. Better take advantage of it.

Yesterday we dewinterized and finished the battery upgrade (see the post in the Mods and Upgrades section). We also began our fresh tank and water line sanitation process of a little over 1/2 cup of bleach to our 38gallon fresh tank and let it soak overnight. We'll finish it today by draining the tank and lines and giving them a rinse. Then we'll reset our onboard items that stay there through the year.

Next weekend is the first mini trip of the year - a single night at a primitive campsite. We've got some weekenders lined up, as well as a longer trip for our anniversary.

Replaced OEM door latches with 2 keyed alike Latch-it keyless latches. Checked out the weather forecast .. more snow coming so took it it too the dealer for some work. De-winterization, repacking wheelbearings, greasing suspension wetbolts etc. while there having them install 3 morryde x factor crossmembers and safety strut support brackets on rear bumper.

Not so weird... I have no clue when any of the seasons start
any month down here with no humidity must still be winter

did wear long pants for about 2 weeks
then switched back to shorts and flip flops
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
and back to the trailer

Got the solar all hooked up :-)
and almost re-stocked the cupboards...
getting trailer ready for a run up north , east of Toledo for the disappearing sun trick.

hmmmmm ..... might get some more hotdog sauce when I get up there

This past week we had temps in the 40's. Snow was melting fast. Looked like break-up was here. Wrong! It snowed 4" last night. We may get more tonight. Got to clean the snow of the TT one more time.

Sold the 832IKBS to my neighbor after 8 great years and upgraded to a 2024 Cedar Creek 40CBK. Grandkids are getting old enough to camp and I can finally not stoop in the camper. Max-Tow RAM 3500 Dually had no issues pulling it, but I added a Pro-Pride to help with the porpoising on our fabulous roads down here in Louisiana. Also swapped out the manual tongue jack for an electric unit.

Edit: First post here in several years. I forgot about my icon pic. Just had to put her down in February. RIP Daytona.
