Took out the last few articles of clothing and toiletries. Headed for indoor storage in the morning.

Is there a reason the battery should be removed from the smoke detector? We've not had a problem before. Should they also be removed from flashlights and remote controls? Thanks for any input.

I take the batteries out to prevent corrosion, I also bring the flashlights and remotes into the house while in storage.

Thumbs up

Drove to the Surveyor factory in Goshen to pick up my 5er. Several items that could not be accomplished at the rally were serviced. Among major items was a new roof and a new black tank dump cable. Sure is great how Forest River will bend over backwards to fix stuff that goes wrong. And a special thanks to Susan Thornberg and the techs that did the service. Here's a picture after hooking up in the bull pen area behind the factory. I'm one happy fella!

Prime Time Modification

My wife sleeps on the closet side of our Crusader 290rlt. She keeps sleeping against or hits the side when she gets up. I took a piece of MDF, fabric, foam and made the side cover. First, I cut a piece of cardboard to match the curve in the ceiling, transferred it to the MDF and cut. Rounded all edges. Cut a piece of foam to match, and sprayed adhesive to both MDF and foam. Cut fabric a bit larger than the cutouts, sprayed both backside of fabric and foam. Laid foam side to fabric, and rolled fabric over backside, glued and stapled. Mounted into camper.

I cannot seem to get more than one pic to upload, so here is the final product! We used the fabric from an extra cushion that came with our camper that was torn. Wife pieced it together so it looks like the rest of our camper.

Happy wife!

Hey Skip, I take mine out just in case they leak over the winter and ruin the devices . In the summer I can keep a eye on them but during winter I don't see the MH for six months, better to be safe than sorry. Just don't forget the smoke alarm, like "somebody" did. Oops!!!

Added a deck on workcation

Moved a 10'x25' deck to the our campsite. Took me several beers / hours to decide how to go about this task.
Better part of the Tuesday breaking the deck into 3 sections.

Wednesday 5 of us pickup the sections (3 trips) and set them on a utility trailer and moved to our site. Backing the UT on to our site with the decks was a task.

Thursday reassembled the deck and changed out all the boards that I broke (4)

Looking back on this the hardest part was thinking and breaking the deck apart.

Got to enjoy it for 1 weekend and closed the site for the season.

Sorry forgot to take pics of the process. I was too busy cussing and working my butt off.
Thanks to a lot of great camper neighbors, any time one of us has a project we all jump in with our tool bags.

Nice set up. Wife and I have a Surveyor 2015 293 RLTS, we don't see many surveyor owners out there so I'm glad to hear others are as satisfied with them as we are. This is our second FR product and have been amazed at the service they provide as well as our Dealer, Burdette Camper Center.

Decks imply permanence. I love your deck, given the name on the side of your TT: "Touring Edition"

Are you out at high tide in Leland? That fence behind your trailer looks familiar?
