What did you do to your camper today?

After reading of the need for using awning poles, I made a pair. I used painter poles, fabricated my bracket from scrap metal and painted black, and put a 2 1/2 " pad on the bottom. $32 cost.

Tried to install the BAL scissor jacks that I ordered onto the suspension sub-frame (to reduce bounce), using U-bolts, but realized that I mis-calculated the clearance needed for the axle, so I'm back to needing to make custom brackets to mount them. (I need to find a good local metalwork fab shop since I don't have the needed equipment ... or time).

Finally posted pics of my other stabilization efforts, including the JT Strong-arm install that I did a week ago, now that the forum server/gateway issues seem resolved.

I've added comments to all the photos.

Ordered a received a Flush-King black-tank flusher, to use for the 2nd bathroom (the tank for our main bathroom has a built-in spray flusher, but for some reason the 2nd bath doesn't).

Ordered a MaxxFan Deluxe vent-fan for the main bedroom. I ordered the one without the remote since it'll be easy enough to reach from the bed. I like that it's a single unit, rather than the separate vent-fan/cover, tho' I do wonder how much light it'll let in compared to a separate vent-fan and cover.
It should arrive tomorrow, and I'll plan to install within the next couple of weeks.

Still planning for our "epic" 8000+ mile, 7 week, roadtrip next year

Looks just like the brackets I bought from OldCoot. The poles look like the ones I bought from Home Depot, they work great.

Brought the RV home from the storage lot, no water or power at storage. Washed the roof with a couple of squirts of dawn dishwashing liquid in a few gallons of water and a soft brush rinsing as I went. Opened up the all the awnings and gave them a good scrubbing. After rinsing the awnings I gave the RV a good rinsing. Had given the RV a good polishing several weeks ago, all it needed was a rinse and wipe down. All the awnings are still open drying in the wind. When they are dry I'll close it all up and it's back to under cover storage till the next trip.

Well it is not what I did today, but I got the brakes on and they work great. I have tow the trailer Over 1000 mile (from Montana, to Arizona,) and what they said in all of the articles. When towing you do not feel the trailer when you are braking, it is like driving the truck by itself. It stops a lot faster than it did with the drums. I know I am going to stop now, not like before when I hoped I was going to stop. If I ever get another trailer it will have or get Disc brakes. Well worth the money, to do it again. VERY VERY HAPPY with the brakes.

I missed where you posted about this before. What brand did you install and will you be doing a separate thread on it?

Bought pillows to try and make the jack knife couch a bit less uncomfortable.
Room darkening thermal drapes to cover the entrance door window and to close off the cab area for warmer winters and cooler summers.

Removed our wobbling dinette table posts and base, at first we thought it was the tubes being worn. But not the case, it turns out to be the base, cheap pot metal, the hub had broken off the base. Replaced dinette table with a Walmart foldable table with legs that can adjust to 3 different heights. Works pretty good. Later on we will replace the base with a better made and stronger material.

past two days, added bypass to water filter then winterized the Roo, added some foam under the water pump to quite it. summer went to fast.

Started packing our rig today. We're leaving next Wednesday for the NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP races in Homestead. Then on down to Key West for a week. We're so ready to hit the road.

Gave Woodstock a well deserved bath and removed some stubborn sticky stuff that appeared down the whole right side of unit.

Installed a max air2 vent cover that I picked up off amazon for 35$. Added hanging & sliding storage containers to front pass thru storage. Then pulled out crappy "stock" mattress and replaced with night therapy 10" from sams club for $225 ( they are having HUGE sale on those).

And what is this winterizing everyone keeps talking about?

Not today, but recently. Made an appointment at Redlands Truck & RV to have a few things done:
- Install 2 sets of Torklift Glowstep Revolution
- Fix my difficult to pull black tank handle
- Fix my slow to retract awning
- Fix my non-working stove fan
- Lube all slide out mechanisms
- Hopefully install JoyRider shocks
- Hopefully install an 12v outlets and 12v USB outlets into my tech cabinet area
- Hopefully fix my black tank flush (it doesn't let water into the black tank)

Looks like they'll have the camper the first few days of December while we enjoy Disneyland from a hotel (I really hate hotels).

I still need setup with an electrician to get some outlets and inverter installed. I also decided that I want to take out the crappy water-trap in the bathroom sink and replace it with a real p-trap; going to need a plumber or someone like it for that.

Redlands Truck and RV service is great. We had them install MCD shades in our 5er. We used their RV park for a night. We'll be using them in the future.

Right now, the plan is for me to be at Soledad Canyon until the morning that they get the camper. If I can stay closer, that'd be ideal. I actually just emailed the service manager about boondocking in their parking lot the night prior.
