Fixing to replace drawer slides in the bunkhouse drawers. 3 or 4 of the 5 have broken.

And, trying to decide to do with a bunch of dead/empty space...

Well crap. Neither Home Depot or Lowes sell drawer slides in 8" sizes. And now we move every day or two until Tuesday. Guess they're going to have to wait.

Good thing that they didn't as I need 10" drawer slides. Looks like I'm ordering $135 worth of 5 drawer slides from Rockler.com. Oy.

No fooling. Fortunately I looked at the pictures I took of the measurements and realized what a fool I was. The new ones I'm buying are a little longer than what I had before, but I think I can make it work.

Now I just have to wait a week and 4 location changes until I get to where my order has been shipped (and hopefully makes it on time).

Better too long than too short. You can often cut them to length is necessary.

Spendydad, Why is it you keep moving so much, can't you find somewhere to settle for a couple of weeks? Every time you post you are moving.

That was a $135 worth of a funny spelling mistake in your post.

Just helped me past a bad day at work...

First things first- that was HILARIOUS! Thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't have put it together myself.

We did actually sit for 2 weeks back in December over Christmas. We have stayed a couple of weeks a few times and really hope/mean to do it more. Right now, we are on a cross-country run to Florida. We are headed to a Fulltime Families rally in Tampa at the beginning of February. It actually looks like I have a bunch of stays at that point that are all 2 weeks at a shot.

I have to add....for what these things cost new, they are awful in terms of "WORKMANSHIP" and some of the materials used! Sure, they look great.....until you see the mounds of sawdust inside air conditioning vents, piles of debris when you remove the drawers, the unnecessary tangled mass of wires, some ran so tightly, it is only a matter of time until it pulls out from the connection, slide control mechanisms hidden away such you have to take everything apart to get to it just to reset it. Where is the quality control inspector?- or do they go out of their way to create guaranteed service calls down the road? Rant over!

Now, Now, he plays a very important role in our economy. During his nation-wide travels, he has kept numerous aftermarket RV warehouses, service centers and home improvement stores open through his generous purchases.

Pretty soon it will be easier to count the parts that he has not improved or replaced.

dresser drawers were 12" deep, chest was 16" deep. I didn't want to make new drawers to gain usable space. I separated draw face from draw, removed staples. Used a kreg tool to make attachment points using 1/2 & 3/4 x 3-1/2 wood. We gained a lot of storage.
brilliant!!!!
