Although i guess the house isnt going 60 down the road either, but i doubt the soft TP will hurt that stuff. so many other panels through out the camper that might have to be removed in time.

I installed 2 - 12V 15A plugs/power ports and breakers along with 8ga wire run from the battery compartment. One under the TV and one under the fridge at the rear of the RV. My 5er came from the factory with no 12V power ports.

Also installed a independent 15A 120V plug at the rear under the fridge that will be connected to an additional plug port outside for a separate heavy extension cord line to the power pedestal. (I have a 30A trailer.) Hopefully I will get a chance to drill a hole in the rear wall and connect it all up tomorrow.

In addition, I also ran a length of 10ga Romex from the very back of the RV by the power distribution panel to the very front battery compartment. I left it labeled but unconnected because in the future I may add solar and move my converter (or an upgrade) to the front compartment.

Used these parts:
Amazon.com: Marine Grade Cigarette Lighter Socket 12 VDC: Cell Phones & Accessories

http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Syste...ilpage_o04_s00

Amazon.com: Marinco 150BBI Marine On-Board Charger Inlet (15-Amp, 125-Volt, Black): Sports & Outdoors

a/c cover mod

Well, here I am with obviously too much time on my hands.

Refresh my memory; black surfaces hold heat in and are hotter than white surfaces which reflect heat, namely, the sun's rays.

So, I can't see why Forest River put black refridgerator vent covers and a/c covers on my 2013 Surveyor 220. Wouldn't those black covers retain heat and make the fridge and a/c work harder?

So, naturally, I took both covers off, prepped them and painted them flat white with a good plastic/primer spray paint. I am hoping this mod will help both the fridge and a/c work a little more efficiently.

I hope to put a fan in the refer cavity on the outside of the trailer but geez there is so little room in there. Maybe up top of the vent stack as there seems to be a lot of room up there. If I could afford it I would put one of those ARP fridge controllers on there too, maybe later as funds allow.

Have fun camping and modifiying!

Buy a couple of 12v ball bearing computer fans on eBay for less than $20 and mount them right above the burner, blowing up.

I readjusted and moved those and gained a lot of room. Still kept them but where the put them wasted so much room.

Flushed Hot Water Heater, loaded all new Rubbermaids I bought at BJ's, reset hitch and started cleaning inside and out. Getting ready for a week in Circle M then work for a week and another trip for the forth in Cape May. Two trips completed three more to go this season maybe 4?

After replacing the slide stow seal on the LR slide, TOWTA said look at the Wardrobe slide and altho' it was not deteriorated, the adhesive had come loose from holding it to the side of the camper. I reattached it and made alum strips with an offset to hold the extra pieces around the cables. Attached it with #8 x 1/2" ss pan head screws. It will not come loose again.

Nice fix but should that even happen on such a not so old unit?

Unit is 4 yrs old and the front is exposed to the sun at least 6-8 hours a day. I don't think either event should of happened, but ---- happens and I sure wasn't going to go crying to the dealer or try to get FR to fix it. I had the 1/8" thk alum and ss screws. Took about 2 hours to make the strips and install.

Began welding a removable bike rack onto the cargo rack. Decided to do this as it it not a "permanent" mod to the trailer and being removable and discreet it should not affect any warranty issues.

I actually have the trailer at the dealer now checking out a leak and the rack is at home so I can work on it.

Gave me a reason to pick up a new welder to try out.

Adding three "receivers" on back to pin a rack to so the bikes can be secured to it.

Good luck with your mod.
Hope you have better luck with putting a rack on there than I did.

OC: Not sure off-hand, and I suspect you have more experience with this than I do, but I seem to recall SS and aluminum not playing well together? Might want to keep an eye on this mod.

Not worried, there are just plain steel screws against aluminum all over rv's, I prefer using stainless screws to eliminate the rust streaks. Alum and ss are rated 2 on the chart below.

Plating Compatibility Chart
1 The corrosion of the base metal is not increased by the fastener.
2 The corrosion of the base metal is marginally increased by the fastener.
3 The corrosion of the base metal is considerably increased by the fastener.
4 The plating on the fastener is rapidly consumed, leaving the bare fastener metal.
5 Corrosion of the fastener is increased by the base metal.
Note: Surface treatment and environment can significantly alter activity

OC. On the wardrobe slide, do you have any trouble with those seals flipping in and out when slide moving in and out....Click image for larger version

No problem, they flip in on stowing the slide and flip out when deploying. I guess I could silicone or put some talcum powder on them, but so far no problems with them flipping.

👍 We also had a panel under the closet area outside of bathroom. Removed it and made a shelf to store drinks. Click image for larger version
