What is considered a "low end", "middle of the road" or "high end" TT?

After reading the now closed "FR no more" thread I saw several mention a low end TT.

Keeping in mind every manufacturer and series has their issues, but is there a consensus of what is low end vs. high end? This question only applies to FR trailers.

And what makes each category fall within that category?

Thanks for any input.

Most stick and tin trailers are considered entry level TTs.

Is there a reason why?

No such thing as a entry level trailer and a low end may be a matter of opinion more than anything. The entry level connotation is a poor choise of words and very discriminatory.

A low end trailer to me is one without a bathroom

Looked around for a way to try to explain it and found this:

Entry level shouldn't mean poor craftsmanship, but entry level can mean poor (lesser) quality when it comes to things like veneer versus solid wood cabinets, plastic latches versus metal, level of carpet quality, etc. The lower quality products won't hold up as long as the high end stuff. That's why many RV's are not made for full time use, as they won't wear well.

Hope this helps 😊

Thanks for the detail.

I was just curious if different lines, like the ones listed for this forum, all into categories. For example. Is a Cedar Creek considered better than a Flagstaff? Or where does Rockwood fall on this list? Or does it even matter?

I do know one thing I remember when we were looking at the JayFlights was the SLX equivalent used OSB flooring instead of 5/8" tongue and groove of the stanard JayFlights and that was a deal breaker for me.

Price and size may have more to do with a low end camper than whether it is stick and tin. Many of the stick and tin trailers are higher priced than some of the fiberglass sides.

Have seen retail prices of some stick and tin trailers in the high 40s and some fiberglass in the 30s or less.

Sooooo all kinds of opinions.......

I guess most people may consider the 315wp as "entry level",thats ok,it is stick, but no tin, more stick/wood/fiberglass,but its still ok.A whole lot easier to repair or modify the structure !

Never seen a wood frame trailer with filon siding, instead of aluminum siding.

In 1985 I bought a new Scamper pop up camper. It didn't have a bath room,
had a portable 5 gallon Thetford that was used in the shower area.
It was considered low end at $ 8,500.00.
But I sold it a year later for $ 8,400.00 lots of fun! Our new to us 2005 FR Lexington
GTS 270 will be delivered as soon as the dealer replaces and adds few
items. I need advice to keep it leak free. Planning a garage asap.

Have a wildwood X-lite myself and love it. It may well be considered low end but it's been real good to us for the past two years since we bought it. we treat it nice and it gets good usage.

I would never call someone's camper low end. If it makes them happy that's all that matters..

Lol. I agree. I'm ok with me calling my trailer low end because it may very well be but it sure is creating high end memories for my family.

This is my trailer, not one just like it but THE one I bought.
