I have three days invested in the roof and sides. Now for the front and rear caps. IF it ever stops raining. Drats!

I find that keeping a good wax job on the camper makes cleaning it a heck of lot easier. It seems that you either do the work up front, or end up doing twice as much later.
Sometimes I envy those who just use their stuff and never worry about what it looks like. But I do take pride in my vehicles and camper, and proper care does help resale value if that time comes along.
I recently sold my jet boat, and the buyer couldn`t believe how nice it was. And he willingly paid a premium because of it.

I cant agree with you more - keeping it clean shows that you care and the fact that it is easier to clean the bugs off of it.
on top of the fact that someone will pay a premium knowing it was well taken care of and not used and abused.

I have seen a few campers that when you look at them you have to take a second look cause you cant believe they are camping in what looks like rolling junk

I try and wax mine at least twice a year if possible. To save a lot of time you can go to Rocky Point Mexico and they will wash and wax your rig for $1.25 - $1.50 a foot and they also do the roof. That's what I did in March. It cost me $45 and they use marine fiberglass paste wax.

Pick a nice stretch of weather because chances are, you wont get it done in one day. Start on the roof, then wash the rest. I used Murphys Oil Soap on the roof and Maguires car wash on the rest. Dont use dish soap as it will strip any wax you had on there right off!

I let mine sit for 24hrs to dry as am not NEARLY energetic enough to try to dry something this big.

I use Mothers California Gold paste wax to do mine. If you have a polisher that will cut your time (and pain) down substantially! Get a step ladder and do it in 4 foot by 4 foot sections. Try to do it in the shade. Doing it in the sun will dry the wax too fast and leave streaking...then you just have to do it again.

I wax the tongue, bumper, aluminum polish on the entry door sill and ctr caps on the wheels....

Take your time as it is a big job depending how large the rig is...and be careful as you are a long way up trying to scrub that wax off!

Once you are done, grab your camping chair, bevvie of your choice and sit back to enjoy the setting sun glinting off your shiney rig!!

I tried paste wax.....too much work. Last time I used Turtle wax ice in the spray bottle. much much much much much easier. Wipe on, wipe off.

Sadly liquids like Turtle wax Ice contain lots of Carnuba was which is not a long term product. You will probably be doing it again very soon.

Its so easy to use I'd do it twice as often if need be. I can do the whole trailer in about an hour. Just wipe on/wipe off

I have used paste wax for as long as I can remember... Tried the liquids and sprays.... But always go back to the paste. Alot of work but the results are great. If you want an uber smooth and clean finish, strip the whole rig by washing it in dish soap, get a bottle of detail spray and a claybar, claybar the whole rig, then wax. The claybar will pull all the impurities and dirt out of the finish leaving you with super smooth and clean paint job....this is a job that would take a few days tho...doing my car takes 2 days so I can't imagine what it would be like to do the trailer.

MY Rockwood has--------

My Rockwood (Rocky) has been setting the the driveway now for two months, have washed and waxed it twice in the time frame.

Am I doing something wrong? Is that too much? Will get another wash and polish job on the end caps before my trip to Nova Scotia on 27 August.

Of course, you can tell I am retired.

Not too much! Building up a nice coat of wax just protects it.

Here is a tip ... Do not wax your camper while at the campground. Every man in the campground will be ready to stone you. I even had one woman who brought her husband to me and asked me to show him how to apply the wax.
