We had friends building their home in interior BC and they finished their garage prior to the house and equipped it so they could live in that while the house was being completed. Is that an option for you rather than in the pole barn? They had the fanciest garage we had ever seen, complete with stove, full washroom, etc. They still have it that way but it now is used for other things, of course.

Thanks everyone for the great ideas and advice. Should probably just throw the towel in and get an apartment but will likely stick with the plan to stay in the RV until winter hits full force. Will have a Plan B ready though.
