Avoid Indy if possible. I came down from Chicago which was bad enough but Indy is terrible.
1-65 is closed on the west side of town through downtown until south of I-465. Those coming from the west are in for a long sit. Took me 2 hrs plus to go around the west side on 465

Just a heads up. I have no idea how long it will be closed.
Even when it is open, it's in terrible shape. I take 65 from Chicago to 24 regularly. Indy is the worst stretch when it comes to road quality.

I agree. I used to live in Lafayette IN for a few years. It was bad back then. Now I travel through there about twice a yr. to visit grandkids north of Chicago.
It needs work. I understand that but it’s a pain driving through it.
Lived in Indy in the 1990's. They have not stopped construction since then. They have made many improvements, though. Why can't the interstate in Indiana be as good and smooth as the interstates I have been on in Kentucky!
