Sport mode isnt that good for "miles per kilowatt" but the torque is definitely there and being put to the road.[emoji41][emoji41]
That was my point. All that torque and the Pious drivers can barely get out of their own way when the light turns green. Don't know if they're really pious or are suffering from range anxiety.

I hate getting behind them.

Hate when they try to merge on the highway, too. Putt-putt-putt.

Guess we should return this thread to its original subject.

The original Prius wasn't a true electric vehicle. Kind of half and half with the battery/electric motor only "helping" it to get moving or accelerate (somewhat).

The newer "plug in hybrid" has more battery power but it doesn't work quite like the Chevy (GM) Voltec motor. The Volt is pure electric, getting it's power from battery and/or an internal combustion engine through a part of the motor that becomes generator when needed.

Prius/Pious owners are a little different. A lot like the original VW owners without the Patchouli "aroma" and Daisy on the dashboard.

The taxpayers would come out ahead by millions.
