Anchor Down RV Resort

Is this place closed for December and January? That's the only months you cant reserve online. I've tried calling and sent emails to no avail. Anyone know if they're closed currently?

Look in the thread ..http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...-a-145327.html.. and consider sending a PM to the organizer of a 2018 Dynamax rally. Folks on that thread MIGHT have some insider contact information.

Yeah in Louisiana we don't get much of a winter so our next family vacation we want to do the whole Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg experience. Go to the Smokies and all that stuff. Anchor Down just looks like the prettiest campground around.

But if it's really not worth going there this time of year my second choice is Pine Mountain Rv Resort.

it's nice to new, and not enough shade for me, if you are going to be spending a vacation in e. tennessee there are over 100 campgrounds to look at. some are as nice as anchor down. and it aint cheap i want to think it is 75+ per night

Anchor Down is one of the nicest campgrounds that you will find in any state. Okay, I know that is my opinion but we use it for base camp to drive to any area attractions. At Anchor Down you have a large pool, Douglas Lake with access to boats etc. basketball court plus pickle ball court and large nice dog park. The owner and staff are always on hand to assist in any situation that might arise. Compare cost to other parks in area to help you in choice.

Yeah Anchor Down just looks like one of the nicest places to camp. If they are closed for December we will just have to plan to go there another time.

Try Gulf Haven RV Park. Very close to Anchor Down
They are open year round.

Big Meadows is open and doing some construction now. They are in Townsend on the quiet side of the mountain but an easy and pretty drive to all the attractions. This isn't a huge campground or the fanciest, but it is quiet, friendly and very easy to find. All the sites are level and shady --not that you need that now!

I have looked at the prices and I can stay in Pigeon Forge for a lot less and be close to a lot of great places to eat at. But that’s why there is more than one campground in the area. We don’t tend to stay in the campground much, just basically sleep.
