Heading to Cherrystone in Cheriton VA, next month. If anyone has any helpful knowledge/tips to pass along, it would be great. Perhaps nearby attractions as well. Thanks to all.

that's one of our favorite local places. Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia Beach....tons of stuff to do.

Oh my... I had about five paragraphs typed and just about to hit post and they VANISHED!!!! I may retype but probably not all of it.

My opinion of Cherrystone is different than M109Rrider's. It's okay, kids seem to love it. So if you are bringing children that will venture out and explore the campground and what it has to offer you will probably enjoy it. Bring the bug spray!

My wife and I visited the CG for a long weekend a couple of years ago without children (they had other plans).

Okay the short version of the rest of my post.
A) on the Eastern Shore of VA .... Cape Charles; quaint little town, afternoon of visiting the shops and beach area was somewhat entertaining
B) Kiptopeake State Park... nice park, fishing pier if you like to fish. Beach, wading /swimming in the Chesapeake Bay
C) Stingray's Restaurant on US 13 near Kiptopeake. Northbound side. Its a neat little hometown restaurant located what I recall was a small store. The food was great and the people even better. Lots of locals for lunch...
D) If you can catch a boat ride to Tangier Island VA or Smith Island MD they are really neat little islands without much commercialism and lots of good folks. Although over the past 20 years they have become a little more commercialized.
E) I agree the VA Beach, Norfolk area is a good tourist area.. research the Bay Bridge Tunnel toll so you are not surprised... also the Bay Bridge Tunnel is a neat bridge and tunnel system. It has a gift shop and viewing area in the middle of it. It's particularly interesting if you catch a frieghter or Naval ship coming in or out of the channel.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A GREAT TIME! Post your experience.
