Day 25 - Shreveport

Drove up from New Orleans to Shreveport today, just spending the night then heading home tomorrow. Roads up from New Orleans were so/so, bumby a lot of the way. Also, this whole state seems to be a swamp. We drove over swamps almost the entire way up here.

Here's a couple pics from our airboat/swamp tour yesterday.

We have had an unusually large amount of rain the last two or three months. Rivers are out of their banks, etc, etc. Be prepared for stop and go traffic on I20 as it is down to 1 lane, either direction at the state line. Enjoy your stay.

Ya, I guess it flooded in New Orleans on Mother's Day. Hope you all dry out soon. Thanks for the heads up on I20.

Day 26 - Home at last, home at last, thank god almighty, we're home at last

Got up this morning and packed everything up for the final drive home. Shreveport to Allen TX, 3 1/2hrs. Took I20 to Hwy69 in Tyler then went north through the country, up through Greenville, down Hwy380 into McKinney then north to our storage yard in Anna. This route was not bad and allowed us to skip driving up through Dallas, which is always crappy. Got home just before the latest round of storms came through.

Total trip - 3200 miles, 2500 miles with the trailer, 700 miles sight seeing. 10.5MPG

Next trip - week of July 4th in Blue Water Resort in Galveston TX.

Thanks ya'll for following my posts.
