Just for clarification are you saying the nut was too loose or too tight. I'm no expert and would like to know the proper way to install the nut. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of your problem, but it all came out alright except the hip pocket. Enjoy the rest of your trip and say Hi to Ms. Laura.

Agree, but she does have a fantastic mother.

Just kidding, both of your parents are A1 in my book and a credit to our country for their service even if your dad doesn't like to admit it.

Herk,

Glad you guys are OK. We're such newbs to the world of runnin' the highways of our nation towing these monsters. Sounds like you handled it like an old pro.

Oh, and thank you *both for your service to our great nation! And kudos to the guy who recognized your service and made sure you were taken care of.

*I understood that both you and your DH are retired military? And if not, then thank your wife for me for *her* service as the wife of a military man...they make huge sacrifices as well.

Glad you're okay and back on the road. Not sure I would have been smiling seeing my rig on a flat bed.

Boy Lou, between the west Texas heat and the desolate area you were in, you guys really came out well for the circumstances. The tire guys sound like Texans, no comment on the other. I'm always nervous driving some of these lonley stretches. So glad you are ok. We try to travel in packs in those areas.

That wheel was most likely too loose.
I check the hub temp with my fingers at every gas stop and it was cold just 15 minutes earlier.

Herk, curious, do you have tpms? If so wondered if it picked up on the rise in temp. I watch mine fairly close and was hoping if something like this would happen it would set off the temp setting.
