Campground in Pittsburgh, PA

Hi,
I am going to Pittsburgh near the Zoo (NE) and was looking for a place to stay. The nearest spot seems to be Bear Run Campground. Does anybody have any advice on this or any other places? I have a small Class C 2500TSC and do not tow any other transportation. It was tight last time we were there.

Stayed there October 2015, nice campground. We stayed in newly paved level site with full hookup. Easy commute into Pittsburgh.

The folks at Bear Run are great people. (the Weirs)
Some of the sites are on a hill side but nothing too drastic.
It's a great place to stay but keep in mind it's a good ways up I-79 from Pittsburgh. (about an hour)

Mountain Top Campground is much closer. (near Tarentum)
Not a lot going on within the campground but nice and quiet and huge sites.
A bit of a steep road to get there but not unreasonable.
Nice family run campground.

Thanks for the reply. I started to look at Mountain Top and it seemed much closer. I will probably try there.

Chose Bear Run because of proximity to Lake Arthur.

Thanks again for the reply but I just need a place to stay while visiting in Pittsburgh. Might even consider Walmart but prefer staying in campgrounds.

Thanks for your reply. Buttercup looks good but is still about an hour away from Pittsburgh.

We stayed at Buttercup several times last year.
It too is a nice campground on the very edge of the Butler, PA outskirts.
But as you mentioned... about an hour from Pittsburgh.
